what do youll think is this a good idea its not something that has been rumored but i was just thinkin what if it were to happen would it be good or bad. if o'neal were to move to centre then al could fit in well as an inside out PF. what do you think [IMG]

It depends on who the Pacers trade for him and whether or not Jonathan Bender is finally healthy to play a full season. I think Al Harrington would be great off the bench as a 6th man for the Pacers, but their starting lineup is solid already. Having Harrington sub in for Artest and O'neal would be a luxury though.

The only down-side is Al Harrington is in the final year of his contract, and you have to wonder if he would re-sign with the Pacers and except coming off the bench. They originally traded him because of the logjam and pressure from Al that he wanted to start. Maybe playing in ATL and only winning 16 games a year, gave him an attitude adjustment and he'll appreciate playing on title contender.

Who would you trade for Al Harrington?

was thinkin pollard and AJ,but thats a good point hes a free agent soon, thanx. the thing is though that they could run Al as the starting Power forward.see he would be starting in this scenario.

Al's been here once before. If I'm not mistaken, he wanted to start then. There is no way he'll start now if Artest is still in town. This has disaster written all over it, I wouldn't do this trade if I was running Indiana.

I think it's a mistake putting JO at center. He can play center, but he presents a better mismatch at PF, and can dominate at that position. Al Harrington is undersized for a PF, at only 6'9. He can play there, but only for limited stretches of a game.

Trading Pollard and AJ is great for the Pacers, but I don't think Atlanta goes for that deal. Atlanta would probably want David Harrison or Fred Jones or Danny Granger in any deal. Remember some rumors involved Al Harrington for Darko Milic or Kwame Brown or Eddy Curry. The Pacers would have to give up a young player with some upside to get their hands on Al Harrington.

Al Harrington already has tons of exprience but is still very young (26). I was a real big fan of him back when he was with Indiana, especially with his defense. When him and Artest are on the floor together, it would really limit the opponents offensively. However, I doubt that the Pacers would get him, especially when the reason he wanted out of Indiana was to start. Maybe losing in Atlanta may have made him regain his senses, but Harrington might leave the team anyway after his contract runs out. Would a year of productivity off the bench be worth a younger talent like Harrison or Granger?
