Most of Green Bay's secondary is missing from voluntary camps right now... It's just weird.

Just Harris, Roman, and Woodson. 2 out of the 4 starters. Seems like this is a yearly tradition now.

Not so fast... Only one of the many reasons why Jsonline shouldn't be taken seriously.

If Al Harris doesn?t report for the start of the Green Bay Packers? training camp next month, it would come as a major surprise to his agent.

Jack Bechta, who represents the Packers starting cornerback, said he spoke with Harris on Wednesday, the same day a published report quoted Harris as saying he might not report on time. Harris missed all 14 days of the Packers? organized team activities that concluded on Wednesday because he thinks he deserves a contract extension.

?I talked to Al today and asked him, ?What?s going on??? Bechta said on Wednesday from his office in San Diego. ?He just kind of laughed and said, ?Call Andrew (Brandt) and call Ted (Thompson) and tell them, rest assured, I will not miss anything mandatory. I?ll be there. I?d love to have a new deal, but I?ll be there.? ?

That?s essentially the same thing Bechta said in an interview with the Press-Gazette on June 1. At that time, Bechta said Harris? situation would not turn into another Mike McKenzie or Javon Walker case, where both players insisted they would never play for the Packers again and eventually forced the team to trade them.

Bechta said on Wednesday that as far as he is concerned, nothing has changed in the last month. He said he called Brandt, the Packers vice president of player finance, and Thompson, the team?s general manager, to relay Harris? comments.

?He?ll be there, and it won?t be an issue,? Bechta said. ?If he?s not there, I would be more surprised than anyone.?</div>

green bay should be cleaning house, seriously just let go an rebuild. Let Favre, Harris, Ahman, Driver go and just rebuild. Holding onto old/ risky players pays off only half the time. I dont see any magic coming from the bay this year.

Favre will be a packer until he retires.

Driver has been nothing but productive.

I agree with Green. He gave us some great years but I rather of saw GB get someone younger like Jamal Lewis or Chester Taylor.

I also agree with Al Harris. Pending his contract, I think this might be his final year. He will report to Camp ontime though. Jsonline was misleaded by a false report by the Milwauee Journal. In other words, the authors source was mistaken.

If I had to guess, I have Green Bay at 8-8

I see the NFC North like this

    1. Chicago Bears 10-6
    2. Minnesota Vikings 9-7
    3. Green Bay Packers 8-8
    4. Detroit Lions 6-10

Packers are much better than last year and are actually healthy outside of Barry, Green, and Davenport heading into TC. and Green and Davenport are expect mid way through.

I mean besides your LB corps, your defense looks weak. Ben Taylor is a sub par LB, not starter materuial in my opinion. Gbaja is a casualty when teams decide to run the ball. Roman is holding out for signing some other scrub to challenge his position and your CB situation isnt looking amazing. Charles Woodson couldnt get it done with Philip Buchanon on the other side, let alone put Al harris into that situation......

Starting fresh is the way to go, you could trade Harris for a 3rd probably maybe 4th. Hawk is something special, Barnett is your best defensive player. Ryan Pickett couldnt do anything with the rams, why the optimism on him.Clean house and go young, Gado has a lot of potential IMO, ahman should be expendable

Taylor had over 100 tackles with the Browns last year and he did well enough that they wanted him back as a Starter. He's more than suitable to be a starter.

Roman isn't holding out. He's just unhappy.

Al Harris is a better CB than Charles Woodson and wayy better than Phillip Bucahanon. Phillip Buchanhon was traded for a reason. Woodson's problem is healthy, not skill. If he's healthy, he's a huge upgrade over Carroll.

Pickett lead all defensive lineman in tackles last year. He broke out last year, hopefully he keeps it up. IMO he's an upgrade over Grady Jackson.

I guess I was wrong about pickett.....

Roman, I wouldnt want him starting for my, and Taylor had 100 tackles because the defensive line leyt everything go lol, they came to him, I mean 100 tackles is sweet but I dont see it happening again I feel it was a fluke.

I don't like Roman either and that's why they brought in Manuel. Roman is a nice backup but it looks like we might just let him go if we feel Marvel Underwood (last years 4th round pick) can be the top backup and he's been turning some heads.

Taylor should thrive with us. Barnett and Hawks should only help Taylor out and from the sound of things he's really impressing.

Like I said though we'll win 7-9 games this year at tops and this teams key to sucess is Aaron Rodgers. If he turns out to be solid, the Pack will be back in the playoffs in 2 years. If he is another Kyle Boller like player, then I look for a lot of 5 and 6 win seasons until we find one.

If we lose Harris.... I say we only win 6. Though I dont think Harris holds out and I think he gets his contract redone. So I think we can get 8-10 wins and make a playoff run.

Well I gotta eat some crow for Al. After his first year I couldn't stand him and wanted him gone. Now I'd....well I won't say what I'd do to have him back. LOL Now Carrol is my Al so maybe this is his break=out year. He could be better playing out of the nickel spot providing Al and Woodson are starting
