I really like this guy, I think he's a definite top 10 pick. He's 6'9" and around 250, strong body, tough on defense, good rebounder, good scorer in the post, good athlete, really aggressive. Reminds me a little bit on Vin Baker. I like this guy a lot.

He obviously has the skills and athletiscm, plus he's a team guy. He plays in a loaded frontcourt, doesn't complain about touches, and even skipped the NBA draft last year (a likely first rounder) to play bball in Florida another year, without getting paid. Horford loves the game of basketball. He's going to have a very succesful NBA career.
I don't think Horford is going to be Elton Brand or Jermaine O'Neal, Pacers fan. Those expectations are way too high. I don't think he'll be a franchise player and a perenneal All-Star, but I do think he will be a good 2nd or 3rd option and I see him being an All-Star a 1-2 times in his career. BCB took the words out of my mouth: I love this guy! He has it all. He's extremely tough, he's a great rebounder, he has a solid low post offensive arsenal, he's very strong, he's very athletic. He has a ton of potential, and I would scream in enjoyment if the Celtics got him in this draft (which is very possible). Horford is SO underrated, Noah is overrated.

Did they? Nobody knew JO would be a consistent 20 10 and 2 guy on a 62 win team. Did they? Al Horford plays similarly to JO. He has the low post moves with either hand, and rebounds and blocks shots often. I think the JO comparrisons are very accurate.

I don't see a real big similarity.

They are elite, what does that have to do with anything? All those guys have different styles and are unqiue and not comparable to Al Horford. Horford is not compariable to KG, Camby or Elton Brand...they have many differences.

Saying he's going to be an elite NBA player because he can score, rebound and block is a little ridiculous.

I don't look up anything, so don't say I do. Also, what "point" did I miss, exactly? You said every player than can score, rebound, and block well are elite players. I named players that do all of those things, they are not elite players. Everything you have said in this entire forum has been a compelte joke.
I love Horford also, I think he'll be better than Noah, and he's better than Noah right now. He does everything you want out of your big man..He can score when he needs to, very physical getting rebounds, blocks shots..I like him alot, and he'll be a good NBA player.

Marcus Camby has never even averaged 13 points per game and you know that might even go down now that Allen Iverson is in town. Dwight Howard is averaging 17 points per game right now, and has never averaged over 2 blocks per game. So not every one of the guys you mentioned fit the 20-10-2 that you mentioned earlier. Now onto the players, Al Horford is different than most every player on that list and plays differently. Jermaine O'neal likes to hold the ball for long periods of time, and is a better mid range shooter than Horford will probably become. Elton Brand is much more compact and small than Horford considering he is 6'8-254, and Horford is at 6'10-245. Howard is bigger, about 6'11-265, and has a much less polished offensive arsenal down low than Horford has at this time. Horford doesn't have to rely on pure power moves right now, compared to Howard who only really relies mostly on power moves and put backs.Horford will never be the type of player that scores facing the bucket, like KG can. Horford will be a back to the basket, low post presence. KG can go away from the basket, get the ball and create his own shot off the dribble away from the basket like that. I don't see Horford ever doing this. So as you can see, comparing him to these players is off. He might end up with the same stats as them(which is also debatable considering we don't know for sure he will be a star player like that,) but he does not have the same playing style and method of attack as these guys.Like everyone else though, I love Horford to, this guy is such an unsung hero in Florida. Most of the sports broadcasters and commentators are so busy talking about Noah they don't pay attention to Horford or give him his due. You can believe other coach's pay attention to him though, and know he is much more of a threat on a consistent basis than Noah is. I think his game will translate over to the NBA very well. Unfortunately, we will not get to see him in action against the Buckeyes this saturday, as he is still recovering from a high ankle sprain.
One thing I don't really like about Horford is that he tends to disappear sometimes. For example today at the beginning of the game he was practically nonexistant in the beginning of the first half. He'd make a bucket and a rebound here and there but his name wasn't being called as much as you'd think for a guy projected to go top tenish.
