I love this fit. The Suns are a team that doesn't care about your measurables. They have started 6'8" Boris Diaw at the pivot. Tucker fills a need as an energetic guy who can defend and create in the post. His size isn't as much an issue now; he can defend 3s and will be able to defend the 2 spot as well. And he joins a team that is about winning, just like he is. I think he'll be an asset from the get go and wish him nothing but success as a Sun
I've been a fan of Tucker since his freshman year with the Badgers so I'm pretty happy he's with the team. D'Antoni only likes to play a select few people so we'll see how he works out but I think he can contribute possibly more than Diaw did because Diaw simply wanted to stop working. Maybe Tucker can be the player to push Boris into the form he was in two years ago which would be a great enough job for me from the rook. His jumper needs a lot of work I think but D'Antoni has shown he's not afraid to give at least a handful of minutes to people who are streaky shooters.
My biggest praise is that both of the Suns' picks are NBA ready. They both played four years of college ball. A lot of the guys that were picked earlier were freshman or sophomores and the discussion panel would often say in a few years they'd be ready. The two the Suns took could very well be ready to contribute this season, especially if they can be in shape to run and hustle. I hope the Suns get Grant Hill too so he can be that veteran mentor for these two rookies.
