English joins the Sixers after serving as director of player development for the Atlanta Hawks during the 2002-03 season. Prior to joining Atlanta, English was the head coach of the North Charleston Lowgators of the NBDL. In the league’s inaugural season (2001-02), he led the Lowgators to a 36-20 record and a playoff berth. </div> Link I think this is a very smart move by the Sixers front office, Alex knows a lot about basketball and will bring a whole lot to the team. Look for him to be teaching Allen one-on-one, and making him a better player. What do you guys think?

English was a great player and a great guy. He won the NBA's J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award in 1988. Hopefully he can get Grob to play some defense.
I think it was a smart move also. I think he will do a great job. Hey Love it Live I made this post like 5 hours ago.
The last I heard, Alex English was going to be the Hawks new head coach and Scott Skiles was going to coach the Sixers. Oh well, this is almost as good, but I still would have picked Scott Skiles if I were the Sixers. Skiles was a great coach while in Phoenix and I think he still has some juice in him. Best of luck to English and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Yeah, I like how they took a chance on him. He will most definetely be a great coach if he decides to go down that path. He is a very knowledgable guy when it comes to basketball.
