do you all think the COUGHbustCOUGH Alex Smith will throw a TD this week in the Bush Bowl? I do, If Fitzpatrick can throw 3 im sure that the #1 pick can throw a few. I think he'll throw one in the first quarter to Brandon Lloyd.I just got a jersey sent from my cuzin in San Fran of Alex Smith so that always helps his luck! I feel sorry for the Niners though, Smith isnt going to be a great NFL QB but he was the best one they could have taken as the #1 pick...sad

He is playing Quarterback on a bad team and he went so far that he actually managed to win a game last week. But he is doing his best to manage an NFL offense when he isnt ready for it yet, and he will do better next season then he has this season, similar to Eli. Maybe he hasnt thrown a single touchdown yet, but he lead the 49ers on 3 touchdown drives last week, and he has thrown only 2 interceptions in his last 3 games, without throwing a single INT last week.Everybody did the same to Eli Manning last season when he started 0-6 before he started to explode in the Season Finale last year, and in the beginning of this season. Give the kid a chance before you label him a bust.and yes, I think he will throw a touchdown this week...maybe even 2 of them.
Alex Smith will need a year or so. I gurantee he'll throw at least 15 TD's next season. With Eric Johnson coming back from an injury will alone get Alex Smith another 5-7 touchdowns. I'm sure their o-line will improve, and if they hold on to Brandon Lloyd that'll get him a few more TD's.
I think in 2 years or so, 49ers gonna be a very good team. Everybody would think their team will get kill or whatever but Nick Nolan been doing a great job. They almost beat the best team in the NFC earlier this year (Seahawks)
