Lower back discomfort caused the Chicago White Sox to pull shortstop Alexei Ramirez from the lineup Monday. The injury is not considered serious and he doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of missing Opening Day on Friday at Cleveland. Ramirez was cleaning out his locker during Monday's game as he prepared for the end of spring training Tuesday. Ramirez went through infield practice before Monday's game with the Reds and did not appear to be experiencing discomfort. He even challenged manager Ozzie Guillen to see who had the better hands at shortstop until Guillen showed him up by fielding a ball barehanded and making the throw.
