<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Soriano Refuses To Play Outfield 20th March, 2006 - 10:33 pm FoxSports.com - Alfonso Soriano refused to play the outfield for the Washington Nationals in what was supposed to be his spring training debut Monday night, and general manager Jim Bowden said his biggest offseason acquisition will go on the disqualified list if he doesn't agree to switch positions this week. "The player refused to take the field, which we believe is a violation of his contract," Bowden said. Soriano, an All-Star second baseman, was listed as batting leadoff and playing left field on a lineup sheet posted in the Nationals' clubhouse before Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. [READ]</div> This guy is out of his mind, he keeps being told to go in left field yet he takes over 2nd during practise. This guy is seriously mental...What a waste of talent. [IMG]

Well if he doesnt feel good playin out there then Oh well. Let him stay at 2nd. No big deal. Even though he makes few errors at 2nd

The team doesn't want him there, he's not listening, he's going to get in huge trouble if he doesn't wake up. The team wants Jose Vidro to start at 2nd.

He'll probably commit more errors in outfield then in second, nationals have enough defense they need him on offense.

But the point is that they already have a solid 2B in Vidro, and they need a LF and Soriano knew that going to Washington meant he was going to the outfield. There is no sense in benching Vidro over Soriano, and Vidro is a good defensive 2B so its pointless to move him to the outfield. Soriano needs to shut up and get out in the field, he's being paid too much money to complain like this. I bet if the team could hold his paycheck off for the first couple of weeks of the season if he wouldn't go out there, he'd be in LF pretty damn quick.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Even though he makes few errors at 2nd</div>Since 2001 he's had like 115 errors, that's like 40 more than the person in 2nd, I think Jeff Kent was 2nd. Jose Vidro has only had 41 errors since 2001. Point is, Soriano sucks at 2nd, he's an all-star for what he does at the plate. I think he could definately be used at SS, because he's quick enought to play it and Christian Guzman sucks. I can understand why he doesn't wanna play left field, overall it was a dumb trade by the Nats.

I was also thinking about moving him to shortstop but I think he will just commit more errors.

He should DH then because Jose Vidro is an outstanding defensive 2nd baseman and he will play 2B ahead of Soriono.

But usually you want to put your best fielder and maybe sometime player at that position. but i dont think he'll fair any better than how he is at 2nd.i say keep him in lf because he has the speed to cover ground. he has a decent arm and i think his errors would go down considerably.

Seeing as this guy could help the team quite a bit, I say they should give him what he wants.

Its a team game..They shouldnt give him what he wants, its not all aout him..He should do whatever the coaches need him to do, to improve the chances of winning.
