Think about it. We're not going anywhere. Jermaine O'neal and Kevin Garnett have looked more and more like a pipe dream every day. Tension in the organization is at a high. Everything just sucks. If things happened like they usually happened, the Lakers wouldn't get any big name free agents, they'd pick up some average vet for the MLE, everyone would keep their mouth shut, and they'd be out in the first round again in 2008. Right now, one of two things can happen. Kobe can leave, the Lakers can scrap the team and rebuild from scratch (it's not like they were going anywhere). Or Kobe can stay. The only way Kobe's staying is if Jerry West comes back, the FO issues a public apology, and they guarantee that they can pick up a big name free agent. Either way, it's better than the way things are.
Way to be positive. I agree, if we can get some good players in return for him and build around Bynum, or just scrap and rebuild the team in general. I think it would be best.
