I would take Ray Allen off of the reserves list because Jason Richardson should get that spot. Both have similar stats but if the "better record" rule holds true then Richardson should be on the all-star team. Also I dont think Carmelo will be their either, again theres the better record factor and I think the coaches just won't vote for him as much as they wil for Marion.

Wow, I'm amazed at how much Carter's popularity decreased, and how Yao is undeservingly first. If the players were voted by NBA staff, Brand would be one of the most voted.
While I don't really agree with much of the projected lineups so far, I didn't expect to. Everyone knows it's just a popularity contest, and it's really starting to take away from the game. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EAST Starters: Iverson, Wade, James, J. I also think that Pau Gasol deserves a spot as a representative of one of the top five teams in the West (who were #2 just a week ago). His numbers (18.0 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 2.24 bpg) aren't as impressive as a few candidates on your West bench, but Gasol plays in a Memphis system that doesn't allow for gaudy stats. One of these days the league will catch onto that, because they always snub him; on most other teams, this would be about his third or fourth All-Star season. Here's how my West bench would shape up - G - Richardson (or Parker) F - Duncan, Marion, Brand C - Gasol, Camby

I'm getting tired of Yao getting voted as a starter every year when he doesn't deserve to be. Marcus Camby has been the best Center in the West this season, and is an MVP canidate. What are you going to do though. I don't even care for the All-Star game that much, it's not that entertaining anymore.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Who's been voting for David Wesley?</div> I think all of China either knows who he is because he plays with Yao or they see that he plays on the Rockets and vote for him because he plays with Yao.

^^ lol @ amare, i don't have a problem with yao though because he would have made the team anyway, I don't think who starts and who comes off the bench matters, I only don't like it when players who don't deserve to make the team make it as starters, I'd have a bigger problem with shaq getting voted in than yao.
i highly doubt vince carter will make the team hes not having that great of a season and i think hes not getting much votes because hes under guard instead of foward this year
You can't really say that you're tired of Yao being voted in as a starter when Shaq isn't deserving this year either. Tmac isn't more derserving that Duncan, especially based on team record. People just hate on Yao because he gets a lot of foreign votes, I feel that is unjustified. There are plenty of foreign allstar calibre players in the league that have overseas fanbases. Manu, Pau, Peja, Dirk, etc. Yet only one of those four will be an allstar this year, and he will be a coaches pick. Even though Yao doesn't deserve to start, give him credit for catching the attention of his country to a higher extent than other foreign players. I don't think that Ben Wallace deserves to make it this year, but either Rip or Chauncey does. Definitely before Michael Redd.

That sucks, Shaq is already the best in the East we already know that he dosent have to proof to us that he is. Yao is so over rated hopefully Camby can end the game though.

Had shaq not gotten injured he would certainly be having an all-star season, but he got injured, all-star game isn't about career performance it's about performance this season
Anyone who watches basketball knows what Shaq can do even if he didnt play the first part of the season. The point is Yao is not better them Camby, but thats the way the system works. Its a popularity contest and when your from China the most populated country in the world. It works to your advantage in getting votes.

Even excluding votes from China, I think he'd still be leading amongst centers. There simply aren't any "star" centers in the Western Conference besides Yao, and most fans aren't knowledgable enough to recognize that Camby is having a better season so far.
