I like who made it to the All Star Game but if they look at stats per minute I'm sure Jameer Nelson out does most Rookies, especially Beno Udrih who Jameer is vastly suerior to imo. On a team tht lacks a pure pg, do you think Jameer should have been invited to the Rookie challenge? Give me opinions please
I think this is about the same scenario that Keith Bogans was in last year. Bogans struggled at the beginning of the season in little playing time. (like Jameer), but finished the first half strong(like Jameer). So this means that their numbers look worse than what they are actually producing, which would benefit others, such as Beno who have been playing about the same level the whole year rather than Jameer who played better later in the first half. I still would have liked to see Jameer in there, but it's just not gonna happen. (btw, Bogans last year was also up against players such as Carmelo, Lebron, and Wade)
I Certainly never meant to badmouth Udrih, I was just using him as an example of someone i don't think is on the level of Jameer but is getting more minutes and has more height and therefore is given more of a look. Look at Chris Duhon, Jameer is in my mind definately a better player, although Duhon is a tremendous pure PG, like Jameer, an art that is lost in the NBA now, save with a few. If Jameer were given the Opportunity to start a would bet he would be averaging 3 steals/game, 15 pts/game, 6 Assists/Game, and even 4 Rebounds/Game, not steve Francis Numbers, I understantd, so that's why he's not starting, but better than many Starting PGs in the league, and exceptional for a Rookie.
Jameer would have been great really. He seems like more than a rookie really, he has a great awareness, hits great pass's and really just a clever player. Dwight had a great game imo, despite on the losing team (ANY SURPRISE?) with a 70% shooting average (erm, a tad bit good), pulling down some boards and racking up 3 blocks, and only played 19mins (put him in another 10 and it could have been different really).
