Houston is being wooed heavily by Lawrence Frank. Jason Kidd is on board as well: “Allan would bring a lot of wisdom, not just his jump shot.” Meanwhile, Marcus Williams’ surgery has been postponed til Wednesday.

Source

best of luck with him and his new child. i found out a few weeks ago that my oldest cousin is having a baby and it will be the first of us "kids" to have a child and i am excited as hell and it isnt even my kid. hopefully after AH enjoys the birth of his child he will make a decision to come here. i really dont see how he can join the knicks since they have like 17 players already. im sure after this PR disaster the knicks franchise is going through that they would love to eat a bunch of salaries and sign allan, but i really think we are the only legit option at this point. i mean he is wanted here more than over there, i havent heard marbury or any other knick says we want him or would love to have him like frank, kidd and vince have said. hopefully he can be more than just a shooter, but i really dont expect much if he does come here.

The more interesting question for me is how the minutes will be divvied up if he does come, barring injury. Obviously two or six players will go down, but as things stand now, today, this is the way I see it:
Kidd: 38
Some backup PG: 10
Carter: 38
Jefferson: 36
Wright: 18
Collins: 16
Magloire: 27
Krstic: 25
Nachbar: 20
Boone: 12
--Krstic's minutes will increase at some point but I'll pencil him in at 25 to start the season
--Nachbar will play 16 minutes a night as PF, and 4 as SF
--If Carter plays the point until Marcus returns, obviously this will change a little bit.
--If Houston signs, I'll guess that Antoine, Bostjan, and Boone will each lose a few minutes per night but everyone else would stay the same. Again, once injuries start to strike things would change a bit.

I honestly like this deal but it feels like we are waiting for Kobe Bryant here. Other than Tim Thomas, not many names have came back and made much of a difference.

Dumpy, I'm thinking more like:
Kidd: 34
Darrell Armstrong (probably): 10
Carter: 39 (35@SG, 4@PG)
Jefferson: 32
Wright: 15
Collins: 18
Magloire: 24
Krstic: 29
Nachbar: 14
Boone: 7
And the rest of the minutes divide between the other players (Houston, Jones, Benson etc.). When Marcus comes back, I expect him to get the majority of the PG minutes, with Armstrong behind him and Carter focusing on SG. That frees up more minutes for the other guards.

My guess is that he'll start at around 22-25 and slowly ramp up over the first few months of the season. You also have Kidd and RJ a little too low, I think. There's just no way that Kidd will play less than 38 minutes a night. You're also 18 minutes short. If you think the Nets will sign Houston, then he'll get most of them, until injuries strike. I can't see the Nets playing more than 11 players a night. And you know, with all the complaints about the Nets' bench, if they sign Houston and Armstrong, they go pretty deep. We seem to agree that if Houston is signed, that Nachbar, Boone, and Wright will all lose minutes.
