What in the world has been wrong with H20 in the past? He is much more athletic than he shows..he used to regularly take it to the hole with much authority in college and his early Detroit days with the Knicks all he seems to do is spot up and shoot and doesn't seem to care alot about D. Is it a fear of gettin hurt or what?

I think his knees are giving, he needs the jump and elevation for his clutch shots. Reggie Miller just got back, I don't think Allan Houston will be the same. I'm sad to say and see, that, face it man, Houston's gotten old.

No,it's not just now...ever since he got to NY he's been really passive in attacking the basket...just doesnt make sense to me..

Houston has never been great at attacking the basket in the NBA. He has the size and athleticism necessary (he once participated in the Slam Dunk Contest) but always preferred to stay outside and shoot. Early in his career it may have been because he shied away from contact for fear of injury. Given the amount of guarenteed money he has coming his way that shouldn't really be the case.

I'm going to have to agree with age being a factor, he will be 33 in April and probably lacks a bit of the explosion the had early in his career. Mostly though, he has had little trouble hitting 20 ppg drifting around the perimiter. Why throw yourself at the big men when your team hasn't shown signs of contending for 5 or 6 years?

Maybe with Marbury in house he will see things differently and you will again seem him get to the basket and to the FT line more than 4 times per game, where Houston is outstanding
