Given the recent rumors about Philly trying to trade AI, has anyone else thought about possible scenarios about him going to the Warriors? Here's one that's crossed my mind. Erick Dampier ($7.8 mil) and Van Exel ($10.9 mil) for Marc Jackson ($3.9 mil) and Allen Iverson ($13.5 mil) The Sixers would do this because they get a proven big man who has the ability to dominate the other Eastern Conference centers, as well as get a proven scorer who can help make up for the loss of Iverson. Not only would these players immediately help the team become more competitive by the end of this season, but in case they decide to opt out after this season they get valuable cap room and can begin their rebuilding process without basically giving up a season or more. The Warriors do this because they get Iverson. Anytime you can get one of the league's best players, you jump at the chance, and then worry about roster spots later. They'd also get a good center in Marc Jackson. However, there's no way that this trade would happen (keep in mind that this is just a fantasy scenario that I made up; it isn't even a rumor that has been discussed). Philly can't afford to give up their most popular player, the one who brings fans to the arena every night. It would make sense though... but it ain't gonna happen. Yeah... for Warriors fans. Imagine the Warriors lineup! It's scary C Adonal Foyle/ Marc Jackson/ Eschmeyer PF Cliffy/ TMurphy/ Jones SF Richardson(move him to SF because a player as good as Jrich can't come off the bench)/ Dunleavy/ Cardinal SG Iverson/ Cheaney/ Pietrus Pg Speedy/ Avery
I would take this trade in a heart beat. Iverson is a proven superstar and would make any team better. The only problem I would have is moving Richardson to the 3. I know he is a too good to come off the bench but the Warriors would be way undersized with Claxton, Iverson, and Richardson. Richardson would probably demand a trade if Iverson was obtained.
Claxton at the 1 and Iverson at the 2? Oh man talk about automatic trips to the free throw line and steals galore. Then Jrich can go to town as well as he is getting better at finishing around the basket while getting body bumped. But rebounding would be terrible. Plus Iverson hogs the ball alot. Plus he would complain as much as NVE.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jayserinos99:</div><div class="quote_post">I wouldn't want Marc Jackson. He was on this team before and hated it. How about Dalembert?</div>Jackson was nothing but a baby. To his credit, I would probably be a little upset as well if I lost my starting spot after a great season, but Murphy had a better future.
I'd use A.I. to trade for somebody else. I'm a fan of his individual game, but he's not a team player with the amount of shots he takes. Plus his attitude is questionable. Although his latest thing with his coach was nonsense. A.I. should get to miss practice after allstar weekend because of all that playing and travel he had to do during allstar weekend. Give him a rest.
Erick Dampier and Van Exel for AI!?! This has got to be some kinda joke. ROFL. This trade totally favors GS.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">Erick Dampier and Van Exel for AI!?! This has got to be some kinda joke. ROFL. Why would you give up 11+ rebounds per game? I don't see what is so great about Iverson. He is a greedy player. Nobody needs to shoot 23 times a game. If the Warriors give Dampier more minutes, he will get even better numbers than he gets now. Also, team chemistry would be ruined because Richardson wouldn't like Iverson controlling everything. I know nobody will agree with me but thats fine.
I think this trade will not really kill Philly. They'd get a rare quality post player in Dampier, especially in the weak East. They'd also get a good experienced pg in NVE. Besides, they've got nothing to lose, why not start building for the future?
A big man that can shotblock, score double figures, and is top ranked in rebounding in the Western Conference is way more valuable and harder to get than a scoring, undersized 2 who takes waaaay too many shots. But I can understand what A.I. would mean from a business standpoint in selling tickets. He is revered as a god in Philly. But if I was a Philly fan I'd want A.I. out of there and put some size in there. Maybe Dalembert will be the answer if he can gain more weight. But he's so raw he'll take a lot of time to develop.
Yeah all we need is Marc Jackson back. What a fiasco that caused. I agree with him. I did not like how the whole thing went down. I do not know why he was not played. He was great at the end of his "first" season. He made Damp look expendable.
