Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp and Assistant General Manager Marcel Desjardins announced today that the team will hold this year's training camp at Bishop's University in the Sherbrooke borough of Lennoxville, which is set to begin in less than two months. "This is great news. Atmosphere is an important ingredient in getting prepared during training camp for an upcoming season. Bishop's University delivers that atmosphere," Jim Popp said. "Following an extensive search of numerous potential training camp sites, and after reviewing all options based on our prioritized selection criteria, it quickly became evident that Bishop's University was our best choice as the site of the Montreal Alouettes' 2010 training camp," said Marcel Desjardins, who was responsible for the site research. "Bishop's University ranked at or near the top in most of the criteria categories. We're looking forward to a great training camp in Sherbrooke." Team President and CEO Larry Smith, a former All-Star player with the Bishop's Gaiters football team, was also excited with the choice. "It goes without saying that this is a winning situation for both organizations and it will allow our players and coaches to train and prepare for the 2010 season in excellent facilities." The 2009 Grey Cup Champions will open their training camp on June 7 and stay on campus until June 18. The team will then return to Olympic Stadium to start preparing for its first regular-season game on July 1 at Saskatchewan.
