HOUSTON -- The Rockets will have to face the Dallas Mavericks without their starting point guard. Rafer Alston, who is averaging 8.6 points and 4.9 assists, will be out for the third time in four games with a strained groin Saturday night when the Rockets host the Dallas Mavericks. Alston did not practice Friday, instead opting to have an MRI performed on his groin. The results were negative, but the point guard will be held out of the game as a precautionary measure. He's listed as day-to-day. With Alston out, the Rockets recalled rookie point guard Aaron Brooks from the NBA's D-League. Brooks averaged 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He's expected to the join the Rockets for Saturday's game against Dallas.
http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Alston_exp...-248605-34.html
