That Kobe Bryant is vastly overrated? He never really seemed like anything special....and trust me, I have seen him play....alot. I know that he is a good player, and has some talent. However, I cannot stand it when people compare him to Jordan. Kobe can't even think about touching Jordan. Jordan is basketball. I still say that Shaq is the primary reason that the lakers have had so much success. What do you think?
give me one good reason why you think he is over rated, hes made 12 thress in a single game,he just plays ball and trys his hardest he is not over rated with all the things he is goin through people should respect him more for trying to play this season

True, Kobe is having an off-year, but to say that he is vastly overrated I COMPLETELY disagree with. I'm not questioning your knowledge of the game, I'm just wondering why exactly you feel this way??? I'm very anxious to hear you elaborate on this a bit more. Please help me understand how you've arrived at this conclusion. I'm completely baffled.
I don't like Kobe nor am I a fan but last time I checked, he's a pretty damn good player. I don't think he's overrated.
a lot of people hate the lakers, but I know kobe is a good player I have a feeling he is gonna opt out to
Kobe is having a poor season but no way he's overrated. Kobe plays both stellar offense and stellar defense (usually when it counts). Kobe is probably the most unstoppable "go to guy" in the league and has hit huge shots over and over the past four years. Many of the Lakers close games in their championship games were won because Kobe created offense in the 4th quarter, not Shaq. I think Shaq is the most dominant player today but Kobe is next in line, ahead of Garnett, Duncan, Iverson, Webber, etc.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting choppa22:</div><div class="quote_post">a lot of people hate the lakers, but I know kobe is a good player I have a feeling he is gonna opt out to</div> If he does, I just hope it's the Clippers. BTW - What is the main reason some of you guys hate the Lakers? Is there something other than the fact they're always a contender?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">Your gonna ask if Kobe is overrated in a LAKER FORUM? Right place, horrible topic.</div> I guess it's the right place, but the wrong place to post this peice o' garbage if you're looking for allies...
When people compare and expect him to be the next Jordan, yes he is overrated But in general? NO, he certainly isn't overrated His defense may be but he is a great talent and one of the best in the game today.
He's not comparable to Jordan...yet. He's still only 25 years old and at least 4-5 years from hitting his peak playing form. When it's all said and done, there's a very good chance that the comparisons will not be at all laughable.
There is no way in god's green earth that I think Kobe Bryant is overated. This player loves the game and is one of the hardest workers if not the hardest in the NBA. He works 51 weeks a year on basketball religiously. He has probably the best mid range game in the league and is an absolute nightmare for defenders to guard. His size, speed, and agility make him one of the most athletic players in the game today. Let me sum it all up like this: If there is anyone in the league I want on my team during the 4th quarter of a must-win game, it is Kobe Bryant.

It also means that some people feel that Rings correlate with greatness, and Kobe could easily win more rings than MJ did. I really do feel sorry for the kid that started this thread .

No one will come close to what Jordan did or the way he won games If Kobe can win titles while being the number 1 guy then you can compare the two, until then It is pointless
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">If Kobe can win titles while being the number 1 guy then you can compare the two, until then It is pointless</div> Kobe is never looked as one of the greatest players because he plays for Shaq, and yeah he probably wouldn't have won any championships if he weren't playing with him, but damn that kind of quote really is annoying. I've been hearing that year after year, that's one reason I think he should maybe move on from the Lakers. It's unbelievable, so many people discredit him because he plays with Shaq. No doubt, Shaq is the most dominant player in the game, but how does that stop Kobe from being one of the best? Pipen was actaully probably overrated because of Jordan, yet Kobe might end his career underrated if he stays with Shaq. It wasn't Shaq hitting all those clutch shots in those 3 trophy years, and it wasn't Shaq trying to carry his team in tough times last season. Jordan was the best player ever, no doubt, but he had much more help around him than Kobe did. Aside Shaq, the Lakers never had anyone around him who could complement him on offense either. I'd love to see Kobe stay in L.A. and be a Laker for life, but if it means being in Shaq's shadow his whole career, even I would understand if Kobe left.
Kobe would put up great numbers no matter who he played with but to be considered one of the best ever and better than MJ he would need to carry a team on his own. Lakers won the 3 titles because of Shaq and Kobe, they both needed each other. However you can't compare Jordan and Kobe until Kobe has proved he can take a team and make them a championship contender.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">However you can't compare Jordan and Kobe until Kobe has proved he can take a team and make them a championship contender.</div> I don't think its fair to neither of them to compare the two. You really can't compare a player who played in the past and a present player, it just can't be done. You can do it statistically, but thats about it, and we all know stats aren't everything. It's just impossible to determine who is better if they aren't playing against eachother in their primes. They're both great players, I would leave it at that for now.
