who kinda' goes back and forth from here and BBF still? No joke, I was just over there and nobody has posted in over 5 hours!!!!!!!!! Nada! Nothin'! Is everybody over here? And the only people starting threads the last 3 days are guys I've never heard of or mgb.
I did for a couple days... but then I just deleted my shortcuts to there. That place sucks ass. We can't even cuss there?? Stupid ass admins there too.
BBF is yesterday's news, both in terms of posters and in terms of technology. Let your Blazer contacts know we have moved here?
I've always been more of a lurker than a poster there. So I kept reading things there for a while after things went bad. But about a week ago I tried to reply to something and it wouldn't let me. I didn't have any PMs or anything telling me I'd done something wrong. I figured I could PM a mod and get it sorted out. But after 15 minutes I couldn't figure out how to do it. So screw 'em.
when we left fanhome to go to BBB, the FH Blazer board became a ghost town and ultimately so did the rest of the site. 3 most recently replied to threads on FH in the blazer forum are dated as such.... 1. 06-06-2008 02:23 PM 2. 05-02-2007 03:50 PM 3. 04-15-2007 11:44 AM I wish BBF this kind of luck....
I have yet to find out either. It had something to do with ABM getting suspended or banned I guess. As for me, the BBF site had a noticeable decline in traffic, and I figured out where everyone had migrated to, so like a sheep I joined. In reality, the only value of the forum is that of the posters, and BBF doesn't have much now. Which is sad for them. But it seems that they have some strange rules...I don't know. Why can't a forum just be a forum. Free speech. Ban the spammers, etc. That's how I used to run an old hacking forum back in my greyhat days.
Not anymore. I gave it about a day or so to see if there were any follow-up comments. Most of my contributions are all but buried now, and I'm not going back.
The story is even in Wikipedia. Bizzare. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanhome Development of Fanhome.com In 2001, the Fanhome identity was developed to merge five different message boards—each one dedicated to one of the four major professional sports, plus auto racing -- into one. The Fanhome brand identity was developed by graphics designed Al Hidalgo and the company VMA Interactive in Dayton, Ohio. To facilitate the development of Fanhome, Matt Rogish was brought on as technical director and was responsible for the technical aspects that enabled the 4 independent communities to merge into FanHome.com. In those early years of the Internet, there were many technical challenges associated with running a site of Fanhome's size. This required the unprecedented step of porting the mySQL based vBulletin software to Sybase as well as creating a sizable server farm to run the sites. Scout Years In October 2002, FanHome merged with the Scout.com network (the online incarnation of Scout Media, Inc.). which claims to be the number one ranked independent provider of sports content on the Internet. [1], and presently Scout itself has over 300,000 registered members who have written over 6 million separate posts. During the Scout years, numerous problems cropped up including software problems. So many members of the basketball and hockey boards who had no publishers, i.e. revenue, were left to fend for themselves. Independent Again As of November 14, 2006, Fanhome is once again independent, having severed relations with Scout.com[citation needed]. The new site resurrects the design and identity of FanHome which had been lost during the Scout years and also features vBulletin software in place of EZBoard.
