this coming from the man himself: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Amare Stoudemire was his own harshest critic Monday night after an 11-point, seven-rebound performance in an 89-82 Suns loss to the Indiana Pacers and their star big man, Jermaine O'Neal. "I don't think I've played good at all this season," Stoudemire said. "Not at all, man." He said he doesn't think he's playing badly, but apparently it's not to the level he anticipated after winning the NBA's Rookie of the Year Award last season.</div> http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/1202sunside1202.html It looked like Amare was going on a hot streak for about two or three games, but then the past couple games he has found himself in a slump. I'm not sure what really to point the finger at, but there are a variety of things that can be attributed to the mediocre play. First of all, it is really obvious that he has expanded on his game. However, he gets himself into foul trouble too often. That can be either due to stupid fouls, bad calls, or frustruation on the offensive end. He also doesn't get the ball as much as he should for stretches of games. Sometimes he can be the only one keeping the team in the game, but then there is a five minute stretch where he will have great post position but gets overlooked as the ball is reversed to the other side. Also, his passing game. This has been discussed in before in this forum. Once he learns how to pass out of double teams better he will be able to spread the floor and get more single or loose coverage.
Yeah, nothing to get stressed about, he is how old again after all? Maybe he should relax a little more, keep working on that 15 footer.
