<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Phoenix Suns forward Amar? Stoudemire underwent successful surgery to correct a grade one bunion on his right foot. The operation was performed today by Dr. William Hamilton in New York City. The 6-10, 245-pounder was hampered by pain in his right big toe throughout his first season, but he overcame the minor injury to play in all 82 games and win the 2002-03 NBA Rookie of the Year award. As a result of the procedure, Stoudemire will not participate in the Suns rookie/free agent camp or the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake during July. He is expected back on the basketball floor in early September. The 20-year old averaged 13.5 points, 8.8 rebounds (3.0 offensive), .472 shooting from the field, 1.06 blocks, 0.76 steals and 31.3 minutes while starting 71 of the 82 games in which he played this season. He finished the season ranked seventh in the NBA in offensive rebounds, 12th in rebounds, 26th in field goal percentage and 18th in double-doubles (25). In addition, he finished ninth in the NBA Crunch Time Stat for all-around performance in the game's final two minutes and overtime. </div>
I figured something like this would happen since his toe was bothering him throughout the season. Sucks that he won't be able to play 'til September, but as long as it's a full recovery I have no problem with it.
