After just witnessing an astounding 38 point performance by Amare Stoudemire's, only one question comes to mind. What if Amare Stoudemire had a text book, well coached jumpshot? What if the 6-10, 250 pound power foward, who's averaging an impressive 26 points per game, enhancing his arsenal of maneuvers with a mid range jumpshot? Try to imagine, perhaps the most physical and dominate low post foward in the game today extending his strike zone to nearly the 3 point line. Everyone is already aware of his strength and agility, making him nearly impossible to defend head on in the low post. Defensives have proved useless, settling for the foul or failed charge attempts. He's improved his back to the basketball offense, and he's shown great quickness and handle for a power foward with his off the dribble attacks. Now imagine...Amare with a jumpshot. Imagine Tim Duncan's low post threat matched with Michael Jordan's cut throat mentality. An amplified Chris Webber in his prime. This young foward truely holds the keys to become perhaps the most dominate player this league has seen at his postion. With players like Nash, Richardson, and Marion surrounding him his game is only bound to benefit. Since his rookie season in 02-03, he's scoring average has jumped roughly 6 points each year! IMAGINE! Get your Amare Stoudemire stock now, before it sky rockets. Future MVP FOR SURE!!!
If Amare had a jumper the world is in serious trouble, but the way he is playing now is fine for me! Hopefully Amare who is still only 22 will keep improving on his jumper so he can get to the KG level and that MVP Status. Amare is so hard to defend in the post already, I was thinking about a nice fad-away from the post. Something like KG has, that would be nice, get the ball in the post, take a couple dribbles, turn around fad-away. That would be sick! All we can do as fans is sit back and watch as Amare establishes a jump shot
Amare doesn't have a jump shot? From what I know, he does have a Jumpshot, a Mid-Range jumpshot. It's a an average one, not a great one, but he can hit it when he wants. The thing is, he doesn't use that much because he's so versatile and powerful inside. His jumper can improve, and it will, but its nothing big. His mid range shot is respectable, but he's too much of a threat inside to take jumpers with the likes of Nash, Marion, JJ, Q and Jacobsen on the floor.
Plus, other than a rocky game the other night his free-throw shooting has improved and hopefully will continue to do so. With his low post ability he can not only draw contact and get the tosses, but actually put them in.
Amare should pattern his offensive game after Hakeem Olajuwon. He has the right physical build for it. He should work on catch-and-shoot from maybe 18 feet in, develop his foot work on the post, and master a turnaround jumper. Heck, while he's at it, he might as well pattern his defensive game after Hakeem too. That part will take much more work, though.
Amare goes for his 3rd stright 30 point game as he leads the NBA in points per game!!!Shooting 57% from the field! MVP!MVP!
Amare has been playing well but he is not the MVP, do you remembre when Kobe had a whole bunch of 40 point games in a row, but he didnt get MVP. As for Amares jumper he has one but he doesnt shoot it much, its an ok shot but his form looks awkward at times, he'll improve that as his career goes on.Lets just hope he doesnt turn into a KG type plaayer, a 7 footer who shoots jumpers all night.
Amare is playing great, his jumper will come in stride by next season and he'll be more unstoppable than he already is. Amare will be a force to be reckoned with and has a record tied with Charles Barkley right now for something but I forgot what. Amare might be able to take the MVP this year depending on how far the Suns get, he should definitely be an all-star same with The Matrix.
Amare is great The whole Pheonix team kicks a-- Steve Nash compliments every player on that team extremely well, he is the missing piece to their puzzle.

If he had a 15 footer, he would be unstoppable, KG, TD level player, without a doubt. Look at these stats thru 9 games...28.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.00 bpg, FG% .576. He isn't on the level of a KG, TD, those 1st tier PF's, but he is up there with Dirk, JO, Webber, etc. right now, without a jumper. The low post game is already there for him, a 15 foot and in jumper would make him a top 10 player, easy.
