Joakim Noah would have to be the third person if the trade is composed like this.

So where do we sit after this trade?

    PG-Derrick Rose/Kirk Hinrich
    SG-Ben Gordon/Kirk Hinrich
    SG-Luol Deng/Thabo Sefolosha
    PF-Amare Stoudemire/Andres Nocioni/Louis Amundson
    C- Aaron Gray/Michael Ruffin

We'd probably want to trade Hinrich at the very least after that to try to get a big man. Same with Hughes.

Wow that's nothing for the Bulls. Even though I think Amare's overrated, you guys barely gave up anything.

Hey, we had to give up all our treasures from the Eddy Curry trade to get him! :devilwink:

Could somebody remind who the other bulls big man is so that they don't have to either start Gray at the 5, Noc or Deng at the 4. Cedric Simmons? Is that even how you spell his name? If it's Noah I don't think things are going to work out very well.

If there's no draft pick involved, we might use our pick to grab a big in the draft. Play small ball for the rest of this season.

I'd imagine our draft pick is almost certainly involved.

That's a beast starting lineup in a couple of years, when Rose is developed. Maybe draft a center this year for Gray.

    pg: Rose
    sg: Gordon
    sf: Deng
    pf: Amare
    c: draft???

Assuming BG stays of course. Only problem is I'm not seeing any defense, but it will certainly make you guys competitive.

Does this person have any credibility? Because to me it looks like a random blog claiming inside info.

They had Terry Porter firing up on Monday, and they were the first to break the Stoudemire trade talk.

The guy who does the blog has been interviewing NBA players like crazy at Allstar Weekend, and has talked to Steve Kerr and I believe Amare over the course of Allstar Weekend. (Although I doubt this information came from either of those two.)

good to know. I'm not big on Amare, but I'd be disappointed if Portland missed out on Amare because of that deal.

"and another player." The most likely player being Noah.

The Bulls won't go ~$4M over the LT threshold to do this deal.

I don't know. He might be onto something given the bigs other than Amare would be Amundson, Noch and Gray.

"The trade likely would have to include at least one of the following -- Drew Gooden, whose contract expires after this season, and Larry Hughes, whose deal comes off the books after 2009-10."

Hughes + Thomas for Amare + Amundson

    Bulls $15.9M in
    Phoenix $16.6M in

why would phoenix do that? They want immediate cap savings, or as close to immediate cap savings. A blazers offer of raef, Bayless and a 1st round pick would blow that one out of the water

"Though several other teams are still in the mix and are being apprised of the progress with Stoudemire, one rival executive familiar with the talks said Portland evidently is no longer an option."

If they want Hughes, that's the only kind of deal that fits without throwing in guys like Deng and Noah for JRich.
