<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Stoudemire, never shy about proclaiming his potential for greatness, will be wearing a new jersey in 2006-07 -- No. 1 -- after a '05-06 season in which he was limited to three games because of two knee surgeries.ESPN.com has learned that Stoudemire formally applied to the league before the March 3 deadline to change his jersey number from 32 to 1 starting next season. For a player to change numbers without being traded, he must have worn the same number for at least four seasons and complete the application process.</div>Link
I can't really imagine him wearing number 1, that'll be kinda weird..What site did you get that from?
Why are all these superstars changing there number I dont like #1. That seems to me like a point Guard/Shooting Guard number

Players his size never wear that low of a number. So to me, seems like he has an ego ralleyed up since he has been injuried
Maybe he wants to be known differently..? Since no big men ever wear number 1..or Maybe he's just doing it, to represent a fresh start
Thats what it said in the article. He wants to have a freshstart, even though I wouldnt want people to forget if I was him what I did against the Spurs in the WCF last year.
I dont think it makes a differenc e what number he wears its not gonna affect how he plays. He just wants to get noticed more

Who's next? Duncan? Shaq? T-Mac? Jesus, lol keep your number people. It's gunna so wierd seeing Kobe in 24, but not Amare as #1? Wierd.
So... we will have a race to see who is the better "#1" next season... Amare or T-Mac. Now this just means I'm going to have to go out and get a new Amare jersey...
Ostertag had 0, lol.He just wants a fresh start, something to motivate him. I think he's doing it because that's his goal to be the #1 players and it's hard after that knee surgery. I wish him luck in getting back to his greatness.
I see no problem with this. He wasn't known as 32 anyways, so changing his number won't have much effect as say Kobe. 1 is a good number for him considering his ego.
I don't like how players can change numbers. I was pissed when Sheed did it after I bought his #30 jersey, and I would pissed if I had a Kobe or Amare Jersey too.
