What is the most amazing thing you have ever seen occur on a basketball court? It could be a play, a sequence of plays, or some dude streaking for all I care....any level, anywhere....

Caron Butler's half court shot that he made tonight against the Rockets. "Half Court" is being too modest, he made that shot from the opposite free throw line at the other end of the court... SPECTACULAR!

It was USC vs Oregon Oregon was leading USC by 5 pts with about 5 seconds left in the game...Oregon had the ball and was inbounding...Spanich (a Trojan) stole the inbound pass and quickly hit a three with about 1 second left in the game...Oregon didn't bother calling timeout and tried inbounding again. This time, they tried to throw it the length of the court, but Spanich intercepted it at half court and shot it from there at the buzzer and MADE IT....2 stls and 2 treys (one from half court at the buzzer) in less than 5 seconds, USC wins by 1....crazy This occured a couple of years ago...anybody see that game?

The thing that was so "amazing" is that it was a point guard who pulled the slam. Now you tell me, lifting a 7'7' big white guy sideways and slamming him to the ground isn't amazing? It takes a whole lot to impress you I guess.

Any number of gravity-defying plays by Michael Jordan. For you youngins, you really ought to catch some replays of Jordan from the late 80's, when two or three guys pin his arms to his side and hit him in mid air, and he still gets the shot off and makes it.

Dr. J's one handed, palmed reverse layup was also an old school classic. As for the Bradley slamming, someone posted a vid on it in this particualar forum. It was titled NBA Fights I believe. Thats where i recently seen it. Search it up, it was rather entertaining.
yeah, dr J's reverse layup. to me still the best play ever. how he made that shot is incredible. that and that famous jordan shot where he changed his shot mid air. in recent years i remember ac carter making a shot from behind the backboard. the ball went in a high arc over the board and fell in. nobody could believe it. allan iverson running sideways shot in the ASG a couple years ago was amazing too. but the one thing i think was incredible was that guy in the early 90s hitting a shot from center court for a million dollars. it was at a bulls game, i believe. i've never seen it, but read about it.

He actually hit it from the opposite free throw line, so it was even more amazing. He chalked it down to him wearing some lucky gold colored shoes, but you've gotta have some skill to hit that shot, especially with so many people watching. Afterwards, Jordan ran out and gave him a hug, and said after the game that the guy made more money with that one shot than Horace Grant made in a year(this was before some of the mid 90's salary explosions, so it was probably true, but still funny).
There was a play at Duke...I think Duke was playing Wake but I'm not sure....but Duke was on a fast break..Hurley ooped it to Grant Hill but it went behind his head....Grant jumped and somehow was able to reach all the way back and grab the ball and slam it....

No one mentioned VC's dunk on the frenchman Weis?!?!?!?!? That is the best thing that I've seen done in a basketball game. Have you seen the fan's reactions?!??!There were none at first. Most of them couldn't believe that they've just seen him do it.
I don't remember exactly, but last year it was Atlanta vs. another team that I forgot and the other team's player shot a free throw and missed and then I think Theo Ratliff tried to get the rebound and accidently slipped off of its hands and ended in their own basket giving the other team 2 points.
^ that kind of reminds me of the play a couple of years ago...It was a pheonix game, i don't remember the players involved (some who remembers can fill it in), but it was a jump ball situation..They jumped and the player who got the tip tried to go up for a shot on the wrong basket!!! The funny thing was someone from the opposing team got confused too and FOULED him....refs didn't give him a 3pt shot tho.... this was like 2 or 3 years ago so i know most of u remember this....
