<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Dave D'Alessandro reveals that the Nets recently pursued Juwan Howard, the 6'-9" power forward who plays backup for the Rockets. And he adds, the team may pursue him again. The problem is that the 32-year-old is owed more than $20 million over the next three years and management is split on whether he's worth it. Meanwhile, D'Alessandro drops more hints about the team's downward spiral and even offers up the possibility that as a unit, this team is simply done</div>

Juwan Howard is garbage. I hated him in Orlando and you guys should really stay away from him.

Absolutely the worst possible option. Huge contract and he doesn't bring you anything that Nenad Krstic already does. They need to look for a frontcourt help somewhere else.

I don't think Juwan Howard is a real solution for this team.

He's the only choice we have left.

So now you're just making a move for the sake of it? Not smart.

    What does "pursue" mean?

Did they call and ask Houston if Howard is available and got turned down? Sounds like b.s. rumor to me. I can't imagine the Rockets turning down any offer to unload the likes of Juwan Howard.

Maybe they offered McInnis and Nachbar or something?

Desperate. And honestly we aren't that desperate to get Howard. He will contribute pratically nothing. Like Swish said, it isn't smart and I agree.

Thorn isn't stupid so I hope he doesn't make this mistake.

There isn't many other big men left and Howard wasn't bad for the Rockets.

It doesn't matter if there aren't many big men left. Why make a very risky move that can hurt you in the future? This season is important but we shouldn't do any trade because we can. You must think. Will this hurt us in the long run or is worth it? In this case, it isn't.

Howard is old and his contract is awful. Case closed.

I wasn't really looking at his contract and we don't need him for the future we need to win now while our best players are in their primes. So he is gonna be like a Jeff McInnis?

His contract is the killer, and he isn't worth it anyway.

We want to win now, but there is no point in crippling our future, with useless contracts.

Adding him to the mix won't make us championship contenders, so what's the point?

His contract is bad, but I don't think its killer.

He's making 6.4 mill this year, and he is a 6'9 player, big men get paid more.
His two years after are 6.8 and 7.4 mill.

Adonal Foyle makes 8 million a year to sit on the bench for the Warriors.
