I can understand why someone could have sincere questions about sports and transgenderism. OTOH, I have no respect for political hacks who trivialize a complicated and serious issue just to score points with the lowest common denominator. It takes a particularly low person to seek votes by bullying kids!

Bravo. So sick of others knowing best in their minds.
BTW my trans nephew is living happily in London enjoying national health service and has a girlfriend.

I plan to watch the videos tomorrow, haven’t had a chance yet tonight. I used to work with a trans person, he dressed as a woman, did his nails, had long hair, even got breast implants at the end of my time working with him.

I found it very interesting talking to him, andI do mean him, because he insisted I (and everyone else) call him by male pronouns until he finished his last surgery to complete his journey. He was extremely open about the whole thing, and interestingly enough one of his best buds at work was a hardcore Trump NRA gun nut.

He was a cool guy and I learned quite a bit about being trans and the struggle that comes along with it. My workplace was pretty cool about it too, they converted a part of the building into a universal non-binary bathroom almost explicitly at his request.

This was about the time the North Carolina bathroom bill came out and he insisted he didn’t want it to be an issue and requested one so he wouldn’t make any of the women uncomfortable at work. This was at his request, my employer and the other employees were totally fine with his choice and whichever bathroom he used.

He was a very interesting person and a great employee. He may have been lucky, but he was pretty accepted universally even by the hardcore Trumpers at my workplace. It really opened my eyes and challenged a lot of my preconceived notions about a lot of things, I really thought he would have been more ostracized or picked on by them, but he was actually pretty much embraced by em.

I hope your journey has been similar and that you’ve been able to be a positive influence on others, helping to educate them on the subject and your experience much like my previous coworker was with me and my former colleagues.

    Thanks for posting.

Watched the sports one. Yep. Just put people in the highest competitive class you can.

Allow each individual sport to classify competitors into classes as they see fit. Cis women should also be allowed to play up if they can compete.

Those who fall in grey areas should compete up.

Nobody should be forced to play down. Anybody who wants should be allowed to try and qualify to play up.

Rules should be clear before the event, and they should not be allowed to change after the event.

Nobody should be barred from competing.

So you now agree anti abortion laws and anti trans laws are wrong?

Not at all. What I'm agreeing with is that we all have our opinions and world views without having others "knowing best" telling us what to do. I will, and always will, view an unborn child being a living entity. An entity with human rights. Just like you may not agree with, say, parents knowing what's best for their transgender child. Doesn't that child have certain rights of their own? I believe the same for that unborn, completely vulnerable, child.

OK, as to be respectful to YamTastic, I'll pull out of the abortion discussion/debate. We don't want/need another tire fire!

Agreed. Which is why nobody (including government) should be able to tell a pregnant woman what to do, or not do, with her body.

I'll agree to disagree regarding government. They tell us what, what not, to do all the time. Otherwise, we'd all be running around naked!

The stakes for one side in this, are people just trying to live. They are just trying to be who they are and being told that is not ok and having laws made against them. The trans community is literally fighting for their lives.

Its like if a large group of people suddenly said it wasn't ok for me or you to be straight white males and made laws against it. It's far more complex than that, but the point is made.

On the other side is people trying to win. Whether because of willful ignorance or hate, trying to stop a group of people from being able to be who they are and live their lives accordingly.

Maybe hate is not the answer to hate. There are better ways to combat it. But, I can understand the cause for anger.

Would you say Ukraine is as guilty as Russia because their armed forces are also killing people?

Russia is the invader and killing civilians purposely as Russia looks at them as the enemy they do not differentiate civilians Ukrainians from Ukrainian Military. From what I understand it's a tactic used. Very wrong for sure.
If the Ukrainians invade Russia and go after civilians they are as wrong as well.
As long as both sides are hell bent on war and not interested in diplomatically it will never end. Similar to religious wars like Sunnies and Shia or Muslims and Jews and/or Christians or Israelis or Americans.
