Call me crazy, but I'd rather not give more money to the government. I just have very little faith about where that money will go, how it will be spent, and how it will be documented.

An alternative that I think the government should look at is microfinancing. Set up a program that provides rich people who feel guilty with an outlet to provide money directly to small business owners. There are some really cool websites that help people in countries like America lend money directly to people in places like Africa. You pick someone on the site and lend them, say, $1,000 in a short term loan.

I've heard the return rate is quick and nearly 100%. I don't know if Americans would be that reliable, but it sure would be cool to see someone like Mark Cuban lending money directly to small business owners that have a good idea but need a short-term loan to get it off the ground.

Great idea. Why not run the government like a business? Everyone contributes to what they want to contribute. That way, conservatives can finance wars, intelligence agencies, police, you name it, while liberals can fund parks.

Yeah. This is going to lower my taxes a lot. I'm all for it.
