Counting todays series win at Toronto, the Cubs have won 13 series, lost 8 series, and tied in 2 series....that does seem that impressive for a team that is 20 games over .500, but a couple of notes clarify why they are where they are....1st, the Cubs have swept 6 of those series....2nd, the Cubs haven't been swept this year....In fact, they haven't lost any more than 2 straight at any point....and while avoiding all prolonged losing streaks, they have managed winning streaks of 5, 3, 6, 3, 3, 9 , and 4....in my opinion, thats a testiment to how deep their starting pitching has been and all the comeback wins are a testament to how good the bullpen has been....
They are the anti-Bulls...the Bulls never won more than two games in a row last year....Cubs haven't lost more than two in a row. While we're good, I think we will get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. I refuse to get my hopes up.
they have since lost 3 in a row, becoming the last major league team to do so....sweeping the White Sox made that easy to ignore though....
