Figures in the fight world and indeed in all of pro sports frequently retire and un-retire, usually when money or legacy is at stake. Silva has expressed interest in fighting Chuck Liddell and Roy Jones Jr.. Supposing both of those wishes are granted, following that may be the time for him to get out. Silva, 33, is already quite wealthy and accomplished, as we know, and could live comfortably in Brazil as a BJJ and kickboxing instructor. The question is whether the fire to compete has gone out or dimmed, or if he is simply bored.

Damn, I don't want to see him leave the sport yet. Give it another 3-4 years Spider.

Wait until the UFC comes to him and offers him "coming out of retirement" money to fight, he'll be back in the octagon.

Dang, hope he gets to fight Okami before he retires. He'll probably steamroll Okami but for some reason I just want to see that fight happen. Maybe a stunning upset win by Cote will change Silva's plans

The Sun is reporting that Silva will not retire until he is granted a US green card so that he can live in the US and work at the new training facility he is opening with Big Nog in Florida. It takes several years for a green card to go through but maybe less for a celeb.

In related news, Silva has reportedly told Dana White he wants to fight six times a year in two weight classes, defending his middleweight title three times and having three non-title superfights with light heavyweights. He is angling for a fight with Chuck Liddell but is interested in fighting other 205-lbs fighters. If the UFC can't give him what he wants, he would like to go into boxing and fight Roy Jones Jr.. His manager, Ed Soares, says Silva would like to be a two-sport champion in MMA and boxing.

holy crap. I like the way Anderson thinks. 6 fights a year, would be wicked!

There will definitely be some stacked cards if he actually can pull this off.
