Dyson was scheduled to make $3 million this season.Dyson, 26, was drafted by the Titans, and went to the Seahawks prior to the 2005 season. Apparently, he didn't burn any ties with his former teams. Both Seattle and Tennessee were trying to talk Dyson into a lower paying contract to come back and compete for a starting job.Dyson opted to make a new start with new head coach Eric Mangini and the Jets.In his five years in the league, Dyson, a graduate of Utah, has 17 interceptions and 69 passes defensed.</div>
sounds like a good signing....3 plus interceptions per year is okay...only 26, so room for improvement
A corner? Why the heck would we need a cornerback when we have Justin Miller who we drafted in the 2nd round last year? I guess that the new front office must not have alot of confidence in David Barrett alongside him. Hes a good player though so its a good signing I guess, but I just dont see the need.
Grade: 73 | KeyAlert: NoneComment:Has an excellent burst out of the break and as a result will break up a lot of plays and get his fair share of picks. Each and every year he has matured in terms of instincts and recognition skills and displays good range in a variety of zone and man schemes. Has the speed, acceleration and technique to recover if caught out of position. However, Dyson had a bit of a down year in terms of tackles and although he has become a formidable cover corner, he still seems to lack focus and is inconsistent in other areas of the game. He is not a very physical presence in press coverage, lacks ideal bulk, strength and size and can struggle in the red zone vs. bigger, more physical receivers.
Very true, I was caught a little bit off guard by this signing, but it sounds like a good move.DysonMiller/BarrettMiller/BarrettStraitThat would be an excellent CB core. (Considering Mangini helped win a SB in NE with much less. lol)I still want to fix our offensive line Pre-draft though.
