The more I learn about Andre Miller, the more I like him. Something tells me that Miller and Roy are going to get along very well, and may even become close friends. In many ways, they're cut from the same cloth.
I a waslways curious about why he was traded from the Cavs and why the Clips were such a disaster the year he was with them ... this article does a little bit to illuminate both of those "curiosities." Thanks for posting the article; good stuff.
Man, I remember that Clipper team and thinking that they were going to go places: Olowokandi Brand Odom / Maggette Richardson Miller They were a young and talented team but I guess they just didn't mesh well together. Such is the luck of the Clippers.
I wish he would have delved a little deeper into the situation in LA. At the time, the rumors were rampant that many of the Clips were upset over the fun-loving Miles being traded for a mature guy who worked hard and wouldn't party with them. Somehow, I don't see this as being a big problem with the current Blazer team.
Reminds me of players like Pippen and Kobe. Say what you will about Kobe as a person, the guy is all business when it comes to basketball. Portland could definitely use a self-contained veteran who's cut-throat about beating his opponents. Roy seems like that sort of personality and I'd love to see him develop into that sort of veteran as he gets older. Someone who is almost cold in his approach to basketball. That kind of player is scary to face and comforting to have on your side.
If you're being sarcastic, you'll note that I wasn't referring to talent. I was referring to the attitude. If you're not being sarcastic:
