Well, he showed alot of promise tonight and throughout the pre-season..let's see if it carries into the regular season where he will have to play alot with Mihm and Kwame out. Bynum will also start on opening night against the Suns so we can only wait and see.
After watching this 19 year old play in the last couple of games, I have been extremely impressed with every aspect of his game. He is a great shot blocker, his post moves and foot work are fantastic, he finishes with authority, and he is a great rebounder. I would love to see him get more minutes and remain as the starter when Mihm and Brown come back but that is doubtful. I have really become a Lakers fan over watching this group play and alot of it has to do with Bynum. Walton has been playing fantastic as well.I know you laker fans are impressed with what you see. What are your thoughts?
I just wanted to add that Andrew Bynum had the SICKEST block on Mike James that I have seen in a long time. Mike James went in for a dunk and Bynum jumped up very high for his size and sent it out of bounds. Crap I love this kid as a ball player.
I was a guy who thought he was bust. After David Vassay* reported at Summer league that bynum looked the same I was worried. Bynum has legit offensive moves and he is a swatter. I just want him to be a consistent rebounder and intimdiator.
Holy moses. He looked incredible. 20 points, 14 boards, and 3 blocks, all in only 29 minutes of play. This kid has some bigtime potential. He's like Shaq except he makes his free throws.

I think most people thought he was going to come back just good enough to geta few more minutes, but I think it was completley unexpected that he was going to come back good enough to be a starter, and a good starter at that.
He's been really tested in the beginning of this season as a starter, but he rose to the occasion. I love the kid... and to think HE IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLDER THEN ME!!!

Anyone think he'll stick as the starter when Mihm and Kwame come back from injury? I don't see any reason why not if he continues to play anywhere near how he did last night.
He has been looking very good 11 points and 7 boards 1.3 blocks in his first 6 games? That's f*cking awesome compared to what most people thought he would do this season. Last year the draft "experts" and anaylists said he was years away from contributing. Not starting and playing well, contributing. I got to give the kid some props, he's got some balls, I mean he did shove Shaq last year haha.

With Kwame and Mihm coming back, I wonder if they move Walton out of the starting lineup as well and go with a bigger lineup. I honestly hope not considering he is playing fantastic right now, but with the way the NBA works, I wouldnt be surprised to see him and Bynum go to the bench.
Consistency's still a big issue, but at this point in his career its thrilling just to see him play like that, regardless of if he keeps it up.
I don't really see how Jackson can replace Bynum as the starter with either Brown or Mihm. Unless Brown can now hit 3's, I just don't see how Bynum can be replaced.
I'm absolutely loving the kid this season. the only problem is, he is very inconsistent yet and can get frustrating in his choices of when and when not to shoot. mainly when to take it, he passes up a lot of oppurtunities.
