<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Who those coaches will be remains somewhat of a mystery. The only assistant officially hired for Maurice Cheeks' staff is John Kuester. There has been no update on the status of Andrew Toney, the former Sixers guard who has been offered an assistant-coaching position. Toney visited the team for a few days before the June 28 draft, but hasn't made a decision yet. Regardless of what Toney decides, the Sixers will hire another assistant coach, presumably one with extensive experience with X's and O's. "The situation with Andrew isn't going to affect who we hire" as an assistant coach, King said. The Sixers have oral agreements with two of Cheeks' former assistants with the Portland Trail Blazers, John Loyer and Bernard Smith, a Philadelphian. Neither has signed a contract yet. From the Sixers' standpoint, there is no urgency to complete those deals.</div> Link
I would love to see another former Sixer on our coaching staff, but Toney should do what is best for him.
maybe the sixers should hire coaches and assistant coaches who actually have a good track record mo could`nt coach a dog to bark and toney is just another fan favourite with very little exp evry1 gets on larry b`s jock but at least he lets his coaching do the talking
