VITALS: 6-10, 207 OVERVIEW: The 22-year-old averaged 10.9 points and five rebounds in 27 minutes with Bipop Reggio Emilia in the Italian SerieA league, his first in that league after three years in Lega2. Gigli was fourth in the league with 1.2 blocks and made 22-of-65 shots from the arc. LIKELY DRAFT POSITION: Gigli could be drafted very early in the second round, but the best bet is to look for a team that would like to keep him in Italy for another year or two. That could be the Lakers (37, 39), New Jersey (43) or Indiana (46). COMPARATIVE UPSIDE: Chris Andersen COMPARATIVE DOWNSIDE: Mamadou N'diaye ROLE PROJECTION: Backup small forward POSITIVES: Gigli has the height to bother small forwards who like to shoot over people. He is an opportunistic scorer who is used to finding his offense on follow shots, layups and dunks on the fast break and short, open jumpers when he is left by the defense. He has lots of room for physical development, and if he can do that to go along with his skills, he could have a successful NBA career. SHORTCOMINGS: At just 205 pounds, Gigli would be a whipping boy for muscular NBA players if he were to join the league now. Nobody outside of Andrei Kirilenko has been able to succeed with this bony a body. However, Gigli is a very attractive pick for a team which doesn't need immediate help and can wait for him to progress for a few years.
