I kid you not I can make an 8 minute highlight reel that makes Adonal Foyle look like one electrifying center.

But thx for the clip! It was entertaining, especially the part where he shot both free throws. I guess that's a highlight for him! Actually, it wasn't a bad shot form for a big dude compared to Biedrins, so Sene might have improved a bit since DraftExpress' last review where they rated his FT shooting mechanics as flawed. Still, you have to keep in mind they don't show the bad parts or his overall playing time or how bad his competition might be. If we showed highlight clips from when we played the Hawks this season, the Warriors look freakin' awesome. So videos can totally show a few good things and not show the entire thing that a center or power forward position requires. If he's got a fast learning curve, the size and athleticism you can't teach, he would be good to have as a garbage player sort of like Biedrins right now. But one foreign project at a time, please!

But honestly, I'd rather take Tiago Splitter who is only like 4th or 5th option on his current team over Sene. I heard Splitter's quite overrated or he's simply too unselfish, but very talented and promising all-around big guy nonetheless. They say he doesn't sacrifice position to block shots much and he's currently not that great of a post threat although he posesses better than average footwork to score inside with a crafty hook or layup. I heard he's not very intimidating at all when it comes to throwing it down, blocking shots, and he's more like Dunleavy when it comes to leaping or alley oop layups (good, but too finesse) and he's more like Biedrins in the lateral quickness (fast) and free throw shooting department (poor or sub-par). But Splitter's got all the fundamentals to still be one of that euro league's best defenders at that position and do things like pass, handle the ball, use low post footwork, use either hand to equal effect, outquick players. He even used to score from the perimeter, but I heard he chokes a lot shooting the ball nowdays. Maybe that skill will return along with his ballhandling if he practices like used to when he was a SF/PF. So he's pretty much an all around defensive guy who is pretty smart, athletic, tall, agile and yet he doesn't block many shots because he prefers positioning over weakside help and he's not the offensive player he's cracked up to be yet. That sounds bad, especially now that he's a bit older since all the hype started and he's still a role player on a loaded team rather than a star on a loaded team. I guess maybe Luis Scola as euroleague MVP at forward/center must get in the way of playing time for Splitter and also the fact big men typically don't do much until they hit mid or late twenties. The writer suggested that his Brazillian national team coach might have been holding him back because of favoring guard play, but I dunno... The writer might not know all the facts. Plus, its hard to believe you don't use nba big men like Rafael Araujo or Nene as much as possible to get high % points instead of mostly low % points coming from the guards.

I guess I'm looking for some Pau Gasols or Tim Ducans at PF/C or a classic Shaq or David Robinson type center and they aren't here in the current international talent pool. [IMG] Sucks for us because we deserve it after getting robbed out of Patrick Ewing and having some GM dumb enough to trade away The Chief for a big guy that wasn't as good. Part of this franchise's fame was having guys like Wilt and Nate as our franchise centers.

Every year some big man with freaky size pops up that gets people talking. This year it's Saer Sane. Rumors of Nike to sign him to a contract, teams such as PHX trying to move up to snag him, CHI to take a flyer on him at #16, Saer's video popping up close to draft time. It's all there.

Separate the wheat from the chaff. This guy has got some length (but POB and him have the same standing reach!) and is very mobile (athletic?) for a man his size. He did a little better than POB in the combines. He also looks like he can add about 20-25 lbs to his frame easy. He can block shots and rebound.

I remember Pavel and what's the other guy's name Peter Ramos (?) from a couple seasons ago. Lot of times these guys make a big splash and are soon forgotten once the season starts rolling. Sene has come a long way in a very short time and he'll likely end up being a millionaire, but can he make it in the NBA?

Maybe as a defensive specialist like Mutumbo. Sene looks like he can rebound, too, as he's willing to go after the ball. If he can be taught any kind of offensive game, then he could be worth a gamble.

But you have to know something about this kid and then go over to see him if he's worth a lotto pick. That's what Mullin did with AB and what Nelson did with Dirk. Same with Colangelo and Bargnani.

Anyway Sene should go somewhere in the mid teens now that his video's out.

As I already said here somewhere: Saer barely plays in a bad team in a mediocre European leaugue (and I don't think many think he should play more), while his true age is a big questiion mark. I'm very sorry, but most of the European bust are very predictible. this guy is the next one.

Yeah, chuck, I remember you saying that a while back. The guy was super raw and he barely plays on his team. And it's not because the coach doesn't know what he has. I think he probably knows what he has... A freak athlete that doesn't know how to play basketball yet.
