Out working this AM just got in and checked scores noting that the Dodgers really socked it to their former employee Zack Greinke. Four bombs in one inning, 200+ mil doesn't buy much . I remember a lady once telling me that she could not afford game tickets because the Yankees paid their players so much. I'd have to think there are many more culprits in that mix. Would have love to been a fly on the wall listening to the Dodger Players talking cash shit. Ditto in the offices of Tony and Dave in the Diamondbacks Team Headquarters kicking each others butts for that signing. While Tony and Dave are doing that they need to hunt down the former Frankenstein Lab Employee who designed the D-back Road Uniforms and roast him on the spit.
They gave Greinke this contract when he was 32 years old in the off season. He'll be 33 yrs old before next season starts. 34 mil $ per year until 2018, then he gets a raise- 34.5 mil in 2019 and 35 mil in 2020-2021. Yikes! Currently pitching to a 4.54 ERA- 1.26 WHIP, the lowest his ERA has been this year is 3.54 June 18..... ...if you exclude his two stinker games, last night vs L.A. and August 14 when he allowed 9 ER in 1.2 IP, his season's ERA would be 3.62 which is about what he was at his best point of this season. Not exactly what the Dbacks have in mind for the rest of his contract......perspective- Sabathia currently has a 4.20 ERA/ 1.34 WHIP. Looks like the Dbacks' payroll could have a huge albatross for a few years. Lol, good for them. I wonder how much input Larussa had in this signing.
