<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Dave Feschuk:</div><div class="quote_post">Last year, Raptors coach Kevin O'Neill buried all but a select few players on his bench and what did it get him? A benchwarmers' revolt. Lamond Murray demanded a mid-season trade and hung his head in contagious discontent. An unnamed scrub pouted in the press about the locker room's chemical imbalances. The white towels of personal surrender were worn on hung heads. And the Raptors simultaneously slipped into irrelevance.</div> Article Just read the entire article, never does he mention about Vince's winning shot, or his 25-point performance for that matter. And if he hates Vince, that's fine. But who the hell is he to always predict something negative will happen, like Loren Woods falling out of the startling line up and Marshall starting; and therefore automatically the Raptors' bench isn't so prosperous anymore. Get lost Feschuk. You're disgusting.
Feschuk is intended to be the Ying to Doug Smith's Yang. That way the Star can provide both sides of the argument relative to the Raptors and still maintain one good cop to hopefully get the scoops like VC's trade demand this past summer Some of what he says has merit..........................
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K Bomber:</div><div class="quote_post">Some of what he says has merit..........................</div> Keyword: Some. Anyhow, most of the times he's just busy digging up any, and I mean ANY items that will assist him in bashing Carter. For example, remind yourselves about that one article he wrote about how Vince has problems with his birth father's family, and another article about how much money he spent on his marriage ceremony. Bash Carter when he's not playing with passion, bash him all he wants because it's his opinion and others may or may not agree to it, but come on.. why does he have to dig into Carter's personal life? Who the hell is Dave Feschuk, to say things about Vince's family when all he had was maybe a 10 minute interview with his grandmom? That to me just tells the sad story of a reporter with absolutely nothing else to write about and so goes prudding into someone's private life.
But that is his job. and his articles brring light to alot of things we might not know if the whole Star's sports secitonw as praising the Raptors. Besides, Feschuk's goal for that article wa snot intended ot write about the game and Carter, but about the coaching system/rotation. get over it.

Like I said, I have no problem with him criticizing Carter, he's a reporter and that's a part of his job. Constructive criticism serves well to motivate players but enough is enough. You mentioned him reporting about "a lot of things we might not know" but do we really want to know what kind of family problems Carter is having? Do we really want to know how much money Carter spent on his wedding ceremony? Would you be happy if someone went around writing articles about how you and your family were having issues? I don't think so.
I hate most of Feschuk's articles too, but I don't find anything wrong about this one really. And as some people have already mentioned, it's his job to write about the negative side of things. The Star intends the reader to view the mostly positive Doug Smith articles as well as Feschuks and come up your own opinion. As long as he doesn't get personal (like the one about him cutting off ties with his father's side of the family) and he doesn't go overboard with his negativity, then I would say it's fair game.
He still doesn't have any right going into players' peronal lives to get people to read his articles. And also, there asn't really anything wrong with this article since everything he said can happen and there was some locker roiom fuss at the beginning of the season. I'm pretty sure we'll see him jumping the raptors bandwagon near the middle of the season when they continue proving him wrong.
Criticism taken, and taken well. This article was kind of okay I guess.. but everytime I see Dave Feschuk's article I for some reason get PO'd. But yea, glad you guys are against Feschuk prodding into Carter's personal life.
