I don't mean this as a Dem v. GOP thing, more along the lines of what goes into the investigation sometimes. I know some will hate reading it, but maybe it's interesting and thought-provoking to others. Is it better or worse to be stripped of "honors" after your death?

I guess this is a time-honored (haha) practice. At least this dead guy has the excuse that he did it back before it was so easy to check facts, so he got away with it (during his lifetime). Meaning he's just a liar. The guys doing it today are not just liars, but stupid liars.

It really burns me when people lie about their military service. As a vet, it's insulting.

I remember Senator Herring questioning me as a witness to the Senate Jurisprudence committee with his holyer than thou attitude. Now who is holyer than thou?

Unfortunately it's more common than people would think.

It was even more common after WW2, and was depicted in a play I saw on TV. To get jobs, some veterans claimed they had scars on their backs, but they didn't take off their shirts to show it. Even "Tail Gunner" Joe McCarthy, it was disclosed in the 1970s, had lied about being a tail gunner. The 1970s tried to return to the pre-McCarthy Era of more freedom, but the McCarthy Era was irreversible and we still live in it.
