Ant and Trent's Shooting? Where has the Magic gone?

I watch every single game and I can truly say Ant's shooting just looks way off...different then it has in the past. It almost seems like he is "chucking" it up instead of getting up good solid squared up shots. I know many people say he is going to be a star...but if something does not change quick he will vanish like a fart in the wind. The last few games he has been very unreliable. Trent basically has been to (except for his big 30 point game that mean't nothing). Tonight he shot air-balls while wide open....and ANT is just not shooting straight shots...way off the mark. And we wonder why Lillard has to score 61 points???? Not to metion it was Lillard who got them the ball for those make-able shots. SMH.....

What the hell happened??? They are getting all the playing time they could ever want so they can develop and so far...to me...they both get a good D-

I remember in pre-season when one of our boys said "The second unit is nearly as good as the first unit!" Hmmmm.....I don't think that statement is even in the ballpark. I sure hope the bench can pick up their game because it does not look good at all.

In my opinion, we have the worst bench in the NBA.
I wish our first string could play the whole game. Problem is that now, with all our injury problems including Simmon's ankle injury last night, we have second and third string guys playing starters' roles.
And people wonder why we aren't doing well.

It's scouting. The league now knows where to force Simons and Trent. It happens with almost every young player. They show what they can do, the League takes notice and reacts--denying them the thing they like to do--and at that point you sink or swim. I think Trent may sink and Simons will eventually swim.

It’s not really scouting...Trent just had an off night. He came into the game shooting 39% from outside. He was missing open looks. I’m not worried about those. And despite that, he still made an impact defensively, especially late in the game as the primary defender on the warriors best player. He was a +5 while Simons was a -8.

I think Simons has a higher ceiling but I also think Trent is the safer bet to reach his.

They are both G League caliber players. Both of them would rarely leave the bench on a good team, that is the bottom line.

Trent and Simons getting valuable playing experience this year probably a year to quick but with the injuries that have put that a year ahead of the time. Trent had bad shooting night but I would be more concern if he had stop shooting that would make me think he had lost confidence. But he didn't let the miss shots effect his ability on the defense end. Now Simons the same of Trent on there shots. But Simons has to get stronger to able to play the other end of the court. But with all the misses both players had neither gave up in the game that show me more what kind player they will be in the near future.

I think the jury is out on both players. They have both looked good at times and shown some flashes of real potential. But they have also played like shit a lot. Now, every player, including Dame, will play like shit sometime. So that shouldn't be the gauge

at this point it's safe to say they aren't as nearly as good as their best, nor as bad as their worst. Right now, they are about at the level of other back-end-of-the-rotation players for good teams. They have a long ways to go just to be solid role players. Simons may have a higher ceiling (or not), but it looks like Trent has a higher floor. The comparisons to CJ for Simons and to Matthews for Trent are loopy at this point. The best thing about them now is their low cost

I love Ant and hope this season allows him to see what he needs to do to get to the next level. He is best at attacking the rim. outstanding leaping and finishing abilities when he is given space to work.

His shot needs work. The release is too low and defenders often get a piece of his shots.

Trent I could take or leave. My fingers crossed prediction is that Ant returns next season a man instead of this kid business. Hit the weights work on the shot. I want him to be next years MIP.
