http://nypost.com/sports/knicks/4406.htm <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">From the one-handed, above-the-rim rebound he snatched to brushing off a hip-check from Keith Van Horn, all signs at yesterday's practice pointed to one thing: Antonio McDyess will make his Knick debut tonight. It was likely the most anticipated five-on-five scrimmage in recent Knicks history. All eyes were on McDyess and the surgically repaired left kneecap that has kept him out of action since October 2002. What they saw was reckless abandon that bode well for a debut vs. Detroit. Neither McDyess nor Don Chaney would make a firm commitment until this morning, but yesterday's unbridled aggressiveness may have been statement enough - McDyess even seemed to enjoy the hip-check he received from Van Horn. </div> I really hope Dice can stay heathly all season and at least give the Knicks half what he used to.If he does then they should be a playoff team. The way Dikembe Mutombo is playing those two could give all kind of teams problems inside..
The way Deke is playing right now is amazing, with Dice in there, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Let's hope he does good, and the Knicks don't end up fishing in May.
If I am the opposing team, I dump the ball inside to whomever McDyess is guarding. Lets see how well he can get off the ground, defend, etc. He will be rusty, so I would take every opportunity to take advantage of the situation. That being said, I hope McDyess is able to make the comeback successful.
What is this, turn back the clock night on ESPN Classic? j/k I loved watching this guy block shots and dunk on people as a Nugget and Sun. Hope he stays healthy.
Well accdg to McDyess himself, he's not a hundred percent healthy. He'll be slow at first, but we'll see flashes of old brilliance.
