Antonio Silva and Edwin Dewees test positive for steroids

    New EliteXC Heavyweight Champion Antonio 'Big Foot' Silva has tested positive for Boldenone following his win over Justin Eilers.

    Affliction fighter Edwin Dewees, coming off a loss to Little Nog, has also tested positive, but for     Nandrolone.

    Both fighters have been suspended from competition for twelve months and have been handed fines of $2500.

    Early word is that Silva will appeal the test but Dewees will not.

    Silva may not be stripped of his title (re: Sean Sherk) or maybe he will (re: Tim Sylvia). Depends on what EliteXC wants to do. It allows them to have an interim title fight possibly featuring Kimbo Slice, Bret Rogers, or Dave Herman, if they so desire.

    well at this rate, Elite XC will have folded by this time next year, so Silva will be a free agent. :D
