    Yep, a bit.

If you don't know em', check out Vitalic. My personal favorite in the genre.

Will do. What are they? House? Trance? Drum & Bass?

I went and saw Michael Gray last night at The Family, was an awesome set, everyone went crazy when he started spinning 'The Weekend'. I'm looking at going to see Roger Sanchez when he comes down on the 27th.

I'll be dead honest with you. I can't stand techno... that is, unless I'm at a rave and on ectasy, which I haven't done since about when I was in high school. Even then I don't really like it, but I just don't really care and can enjoy the tempo. That's about the only time I've ever seriously listened to it, but I'm into a lot of related genres, like Electronica and Downtempo.

    Poney Part 1 video

    My Friend Dario video

Some of the most unique stuff here as he thrives on using past inspiration like fellow countrymen Daft Punk and Air for his sound. Also rock inspiration to gain an emotional effect instead of making people just listen to nod their heads and bodies about. "My Friend Dario" is great for when you're driving around places and I like how the video pokes fun at rap, metal, and new wave videos.

I haven't heard Roger Sanchez before so I'll have to look it up on Youtube sometime, thanks for the recommendation there.

It had to be done, eh? You're quoting Eminem like he's some great visionary. That should speak volumes for itself.

Really getting into that "My Friend Dario" song btw, M. It's a grower...

I don't really listen to "techno" specifically, but more of the subdivisions related to it. I'm a big Eurodance fan, and sometimes I like house as well. Out of Eurodance, I love Rockell, Joee, Sarina Paris, Sash, Stunt, Cascada, Akcent, and Solid Base. I'm from (around) Toronto so one of our radio stations - z103.5 - plays a lot of eurodance music during the nights and such, and I've pretty much grown up on this kind of music. I can't really stand just plain instrumental techno songs (such as the Blade theme), but songs with verses and singing and such (which is Eurodance) is more of my kind of thing.

Depends on where you are. Here in the GTA there's "ginos" who listen to this kind of music 24/7 while dressing a certain way. Is "gino" just a GTA term by the way? Or do other places use it too?

Thanks for that. I ended up going over to Amazon.com and listened to clips from his album 'Ok Cowboy', quite impressive I must say, I'll definatley have to cop that one.

Theres a good Australia duo called Tonite Only who you might like, they mainly do alot of mixes of other songs, but they had commerical success with their song "Danger (The Bomb)". Apparentley they've just broken up though, which is dissapointing to hear.

I'm really in love with "Same Man" by Till West & DJ Delicious at the moment, cant get enough of it:

I liked both songs, but more so the first video. I thought it was funny coming to expect a fight with the nutbag guys around betting and all that and instead something entirely different. The second video was the average girl dancing video, but the computerized movements went with the song very well. I thought the song was good though, not too repetitive or anything like that. Thanks for the stuff.

I don't think you're into any rock music, but I assume if you haven't heard of Apartment 26 you'd probably end up liking a few of their tracks. They have their own style of music that involved plenty of techno based influence and is done pretty well into the mix without being common place. I'm not heavily into them anymore as I was many years ago, but they do have a few good tracks I still often like to put on and listen to.

Heres a couple of awesome Australian dance tracks getting big airplay in the clubs / radio at the moment. These are both remixed by Tonite Only who I spoke about earlier:

I liked the first track, but not the second. The second was a bit much for me with the whole "bimbo nation" vocal going over and over again. The first though was a really well done remix that had a good tempo and a lot of energy. Thanks again for the recommendations.

You should check out remixes of an indie band called Cities. They released their debut album and followed it with a remix version called "Variations," which was very unique. Check out the Ladytron mix or Free the robots mix. They aren't my favorite mixes, but those are the ones posted on there. If you can find the Isan "Writing on the Wall" [Brutal Folly Mix] that is a really damn good track. If you like those, then you should probably check out the original tracks even though they aren't techno.

Thats a blanket statment. Drum & Bass is a form of Techno (i guess it can be for arguments sake right now at least) and I listen to it in my car all the time...sounds awesome on my system.

I don't really consider it "Techno" but I love Drum & Bass and Dubstep. Really into Dubstep these days. I have been a Junglist for years and years...discovered it when I was 16, been listening to it since. I'm a Drum & Bass encyclopedia. Need to know whats the goods? Ask away! Need any good mixsets...let me know [IMG]

I just classify all Electronic music as "Techno" or "Dance", instead of having to say "oh I listen to Drum & Bass, Trance, House, Electro etc. etc."

I dont mind a bit of drum and bass myself, my favourite is DJ Dara. The only thing I dont like about it is I find it gets just a bit too repetative at times, especially when some songs drag on for 4-5 minutes.

Do you listen to Pendulum Premium?
