Blazers were getting a lot of love on sportscenter and first take this morning. we actually had our own segment on sportscenter(big deal i know but that never really happens) numerous guys called the blazers contenders.... tim legler called damian an MVP candidate. makes me think this could be the start of this being damians team. LA is still just as important if not more important but things like the blazers becoming damians team is inevitable. we are at least starting to get love from the media like an elite team
Blazers play on ESPN tonight, so don't get too excited. They are hyping them up so that they get as many people watching the advertisements during commercial break as possible. I bet they had to read off of a sheet with a picture next to Aldridge and Dame to let them know which is which.
man way to rain on my parade. the only thing is, everything they said was pretty much right. talked about the defense and how we are playing good without rolo....and thats the first ive heard anybody come out and say damian is an MVP candidate
I wouldn't be too sure. Greg Anthony changed his opinion on Lillard, which he stated on the game he analyzed. I think even Zach Lowe, Simmons and Rose have praised the Blazers this season.
The Blazers were getting a lot of love after last night's games too. It was Isaiah Thomas, Steve Smith, and another guy I didn't recognize. They were talking about who makes the All Star Team. First they listed the 2 starting guards (Curry and Kobe) then "obviously Lillard has to be there" and after him they mentioned Harden... they think Westbrook is going to be the guy left out. They didn't even discuss Aldridge (just noted that Portland will and should have two players there), it just seemed like a given that he would make the team and that there's no controversy (they did question the fan voting on Griffin as a starter - didn't seem to think he should be on the All Star team at all this year). Finally they discussed how Portland has the most wins in the league and both Lillard and Aldridge are legit MVP candidates who never get talked about like that but should be.
Sorry man, I'll buy that we are getting credit when it comes on a day that the network isn't playing one of our games.
I disagree. Without Lamarcus as the number one option, Lillard wouldn't be able to do as much as he does because defenses could and would focus on clamping down on him.
Greg Anthony, Lowe, Rose, Simmons all work for ESPN. All their praise of the Blazers came when they weren't on ESPN. So I don't agree with your statement
Shouldn't you though? Based off what you just said you have 4 analysts who showed respect for the Blazers whipe not being paid to do so by ESPN. That is because ESPN pays their talent to do what ever supports the networks agenda. IE: Comparing CP3 and Lillard on a night where the two happen to play against eachother. I'll also add that I am perfectly content with the Blazers not being in the national spotlight. We know this team is legit, why should we care if others outside of the fan base do? Let the casual fan ride on the Warriors bandwagon, we don't need some idiots raging because "number 12 takes too many shots"...we've already got enough of that, right?
It's amazing for Lillard to be considered an All Star lock with all the other great guards in the West. So awesome. He's earned it.
