They can't just let the expiring contracts of Jason Williams and Ricky Davis go unused. Won't push them far enough under the cap to use anything other than the MLE. If they don't do anything they have just their pick and the MLE to build around Wade. Shaq will be eating up their cap space for the next 2 years. Doubt there will be much sign & trade value for Davis and Williams. Can see them as a 3rd team in a Nets trade. Maybe they get Terry, Stack and Diop while the Nets get expirings and Dallas picks? If they do nothing, Wade will be very unhappy for at least 2 more years. Surprised they couldn' t get Gasol if all Memphis wanted was expiring.
I think so. Because of Shaq they have no cap space either way so the only way to improve is by trading. Riley has pulled off 3 team trades before so who knows? I doubt they do us any favors though, they've walked away the winners of most trades they have made.
Surprised they aren't mentioned when people talk about Bibby. Wonder if the Gasol trade is going to lower some teams expectations and look more for just expiring and picks rather than expring, picks and a promising young player?
Perception is everything. If Javaris pans out and the Picks are used wisely, who has got the better deal?
West gave the Lakers a parting gift. This was like them drafting James Worthy all over again. Utterly ridiculous. I can see the Heat in some type of trade talk, they will move Davis and Williams in possibly a 3 way deal, or a deal on their own in prep for next year.

The Lakers 2010 1st will probably be near the last pick in the 1st round and Memphis gave them their 2nd rounder, which will probably be the 1st pick in the 2nd round.

What if the Lakers become a lottery team in 2010? LOL
I could see the Nets sending Kidd to Miami. It would be an attempt to win one more title before Shaq is gone. Kidd-Wade-Shaq could work. I guess. Maybe you could trade Kidd for Dorrell Wright, the Heat pick, plus a future pick, and expiring contracts.
