Does anyone else wonder if Maggette wishes he had taken the MLE offer from Boston rather than the contract in Golden State now? The $ would have been there for him next year and he would have been part of a team that most likely will make and possibly win the finals. yeah, yeah it's all about the benjamins, but sometimes it's about a little less chedda and a lot more happiness too
Yeah man, a lot of free agents have made so many mistakes. Just think about Posey as well, he could have been here in line for another ring.
meh, I don't blame him.. he went to a good team that's not looking so great right now but can still turn it around. besides Ainge tried to screw him around by chasing after Maggette instead of him. It was a smart move to get a younger guy for 5 years, but you can't blame posey for going elsewhere IMO.
Reading the Warriors forum the other day, it seems like they think Maggette is hurting their team more than helping. In retrospect, maybe its better he didn't sign here. Looking back to all those years with the Clippers, maybe he's just a player that grabs stats and doesn't help you win. I was a fan of the move at the time (or would have been), but I'm glad he went somewhere else.
good point. What I read in the Warriors forum is they don't like Nelson playing him at PF, which I totally agree with. Not too sure if he would have accepted coming off the bench either.. cause I don't see him starting over paul or ray.
We don't need Maggette or Posey. They'd just be taking minutes away from guys that we need to develop in their roles, in order for us to be a contending team for longer than the next 2 to 3 years.
see to me, I'm not worried about being a contender, I want to win titles. If that means sacrificing the future for a title or two, so be it. There's not guaruntees that the young talent on any team will develop enough to win titles. Sure they may be 'contenders' but the Suns and Jazz are contenders.. look where that's got them. gimme a title and 5-7 years of sucking and I'll be more happy than no title and 10 years of 2nd and 3rd round losses in the playoffs.
I understand that, but as long as we have the big 3, we will be in very good shape to win the title. My only point is that, as they get older, they will be capable of less and less, and we will need guys like Leon, Baby and Tony Allen to take on bigger roles. If they can develop into what I think they can, then I think our window goes from 3 years to 6 years.
