It was interesting that they patterned their smash-mouth style after the Raiders. A blatant flop? Next time, run that guy through screens the 80's Pistons way. I really believe Steven Adams could be the next Laimbeer.
It was pretty good, although it made me hate Isiah Thomas even more than I did in the late 80s/early 90s. I forgot how pathetic he was after his racial blasts at Larry Bird. I remember the comments of Rodman and Zeke, but forgot the "apology" tour. Even better is when Michael Jordan basically said he wouldn't have played on the Dream Team if Zeke had been on it. That's a completely different doc, though. Have you seen The Dream Team?
Looking at Zeke's advanced stats, he averaged an 18 PER on 25 USG for his career. Even more unreal is that Dumars had a career PER of 15.3 on 21 USG, and only once had a PER above 17 (18 in the 90-91 season on 24 USG). It was total goon ball. Laimbeer, Mahorn, Edwards and Rodman just beating up on people to the point that the refs won't make every call. Add in Laimbeer's all-time flopping, and that was the weirdest NBA team that won titles that I can think of in my lifetime.
I watched the show. I commented on it. I am enjoying you following around from thread to thread, though, and analyzing all of my posts. Quite the life you're leading!
That's probably why I'm such a fan. They never really had that much talent, but could bully their way into winning. More power to them. I've always thought Thomas was a chump though.
