Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Well, Yeah it makes since. If Boston gets Oden, yall will be pretty damn good.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Are the Celtics so bad its good? That makes no sense. Aside from a draft pick nothing good comes from this. You realize next year when we aren't closing out games with essentially what will be the same roster, it will be for the exact reason that we aren't winning games this year. All those things those guys said are things any NBA player who wants to win would say anyways, so its nothing really special. Stop reading hoopsworld articles, they're full of sh*t.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? if good is slang for disgusting, then yeah, I guess that makes sense.I can understand them saying good can come of this, but it's not a good thing. just want to say, it's not a guarantee that we'll get oden or durant. memphis is also at the bottom of the league, and I don'e even need to mention the 97 draft.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Its never a good thing to be terrible. The Celtics obviously wouldnt be this bad if it wasnt for their extreme amount of injuries, but not much good can come from this. They are going to get a good draft pick, but if they dont get a #1 or #2 pick, it isnt that big of a deal. If they come out of this draft with Oden or Durant, their will at least be a positive thing that came out of this disgusting year. Although, even if the Celtics did make the playoffs somehow, what would come out of that? A 5 game series in the first round where they make an early exit, AND dont get a good draft pick?
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? To break it down: the Celtics are a bad team. However, players who would not have had the chance to develop this season with Pierce and Wally in the line up have had the opportunity to mature and improve their games.Hence the phrase, so bad it's good.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? I'll answer the question. the celtics are just bad. without pierce it's pretty clear how bad they really are. when was the last time they won a game? they could possibly be worse than the knicks were last year. until pierce comes back, they will continue to suck. al jefferson is the only guy I can really say is good. west is pretty good too actually. they just need pierce back, badly. why hasn't doc rivers been fired yet? fratello already got canned and he's actually a good coach. doc is nothing special.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Doc should count his blessings that Pierce got hurt.If the Celtics didn't make a serious run at the playoffs this year with a healthy Pierce, there would have been no excuse for their failure. However, Doc is now viewed as a coach who, while he hasn't won many games, has developed confidence and maturity in young players.Guys like Gerald Green and Big Al have been put on an accelerated program to constant improvement and maturity. And for that, you can't fire Doc.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? 12-32 and losers of the last 12 should be enough for me. dwane casey got fired and I thought he was doing a pretty good job with the t wolves. why doc is still with them boggles me. there must be some kind of loyalty between ainge and him because frankly I think he's done a terrible job with this team.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Ya I guess that quote makes since in a way they have been just awful that year but if not for all the injuries they have sustained (Pierce, Sczerbiak,Allen,Perkins) they IMO would really not be that bad. They have a pretty good starting lineup and their bench isn't too bad either. But if they just tank it for the rest of the season maybe they can get Oden and that would be great for them since Perkins isn't very good.
Re: Are the Celtics so bad it's good? Exactly, Moses ...Think about the lineup when Pierce returns:Big AlPierceGerald GreenGomesWestThat's two double-doubles on the floor with Al and Pierce, plus a slew of boards.

The only reason he's played most of the kids a good amount of time is because of injuries. It has nothing to do with him as a coach, because if it was up to him, he'd play 5 15 year veterans over 5 guys with 3 or less years of experience. You can't blame Doc for a lot of the recent losses, but have you watched a game at all this year, specifically before the injuries? Doc coaches like a headless dog. You can fire Doc, Danny is just too stupid to.
