This is a big reason why we need term limits. The executive branch is totally out of control, no longer even gives a squat about the Constitution and Congress is impotent to do anything about it, frozen with fear of loosing their coveted seat at the table. They need to do the tough actions and inform their constituents instead of pandering to them for the job. They are not doing the job, it has reach the absurd now.
Toe the line, graciously grab your ankles and bend as told. I don't trust the IRS. They have a role and generally are keeping things in line, but there's still likely a level of corruption. It's much like any other governing/policing level of authority.
Actually, there are 2 cover-ups. The IRS is trying to cover their screw-ups, and the politicos who are hollering aboute IRS are trying to cover the fact that the groups being targeted really were corrupt. Congress creates an incentive for PACs to lie...and then acts surprised when they do.
I work for a public agency, and we are required by law to keep our e-mails backed up for (I think) seven years. It is required for this very reason....if something happens and there is a public information request, the e-mails will still be available, stored off of the computer that generated them. Anyone that buys that a handful of IRS staff lost their e-mail is a fool.
Since the government acknowledges that they store every e-mail, text and call, those e-mails exist at the Utah data center. I wonder why none of the investigators haven't demanded that DHS produce those documents? Go Blazers
