<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As if the Lakers needed this to happen.

Forward Trevor Ariza was diagnosed with a fractured bone in his right foot after hurting it today at practice. Ariza will see foot specialist Kenneth Jung on Monday, at which point a timetable for his return will be determined.

It was unclear exactly how Ariza injured the fourth metatarsal in his foot, but he apparently came down on Lamar Odom's foot.</div>

    LA Times

OH MY F**CKING GOD. This is last year happening again. And even worse, this means more minutes for Luke Walton. I want to throw up. Odom is just simply bad luck.

People on Clublakers.com say it could be between 6 weeks to season ending injury. Shooters injuring their wrists and slashers injuring their foot, just our luck.

"He got tangled up with Lamar," Coach Phil Jackson said a few minutes after Ariza left practice for X-rays at Centinela Hospital Medical Center.</div>

Odom again? This is becoming a cruel joke.

Kobe better stay away from Lamar's foot.

Wow, this is truly turning into last season all over again. Last year we had key injuries to Luke, Kwame and Odom. This year it's Bynum, Luke, Ariza, Space Cadet, etc. I swear, this team is cursed.

    That's how I'm feeling now.
Honestly, why the hell is this happening to us?
How about we trade LO to NY for Randolph, then sign Patterson and Dale Davis???

Perhaps we get 7th seed again, face the Suns again, but this time we are ready because Bynum will be back. So, maybe we shouldn't be entirely worried. Also, a higher pick in this star studded draft (I'd of course rather just get first place, don't get me wrong).

We were on top of the mountain, and now we are falling down. Lets hope that #24 can play us out of hell for the next 8 weeks.
Not like he isn't used to it anyways.

It's actually being reported now that he stepped on Derek Fisher's foot. Gumby is reporting it over at CL. He was the man who reported the Ariza trade before it was announced, the Bynum being out 8 weeks before it was announced, and the Ariza foot break before it was announced. I wonder how this dude has so many connections.

Well Gumby from CL also said Ariza is going to be out for 8 weeks also.

The projections that I've heard are 6 weeks to the season. I doubt it's the season, but I think it'll be anywhere from 6-8 weeks.

Yeah, it'll probably be around 6-8 weeks. Gumby hasn't been wrong yet. I'm beggining to wonder if he's Ariza.

This sounds a little ridiculous, but imagine if PJax is behind all this?
He's the type of coach who would sacrifice games to help give some of his less experienced guys more experience, and to build confidence in his team. Maybe he's telling Bynum and Ariza to take a couple of weeks off, let the Lakers fly or fall as a team, let Kwame start getting a feel for the game, making LO the second option again, and by the time Bynum and Ariza come back from their little vacation, we will probably be a 6th or 7th place team, but we would be that much better.
    Just imagine....

And then you crash back down to reality when you realize that PJax is notorius for not playing his less experienced players (note Andrew Bynum's rookie year) and realize that he's also smart enough to know how good the West is and how much you absolutely need a healthy team to win out West.

Is he also telling Luke Walton to go easy on his defenders, so he can just burst out come playoff time?
