<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Even though there are no plans to move him into the starting lineup, Magic forward Trevor Ariza will continue to get playing time like a starter, according to Coach Brian Hill. Ariza went into Sunday having scored in double figures in eight straight games. He also has played at least 30 minutes in six of the past seven games. "I want him on the floor as much as possible," Hill said before the Magic-Celtics game. "Of all the guys coming off the bench, he'll be getting the most minutes night in and night out." Ariza has been making huge strides lately, helped by the six games earlier when he started because of an injury to Hedo Turkoglu. Hill has said several times that he will continue to use Ariza in reserve, unless another injury dictates a lineup change.</div> Source
Whether anyone agrees or not, I don't think Ariza should be a starter until he develops a reliable jumpshot. Having Hedo + Dwight on the floor at the same time is a must imo. We need to spread the floor in order to give Dwight room. C-Dwight PF-Battie SF-Ariza SG-Hill PG-Nelson That would be stretching imo. No one in that line up can consistently hit the 3, atleast not like Hedo.
Personally, I think Ariza is better suited coming off the bench (at least for now) because he is the one who currently brings the "spark" for us off the bench that Dooling and Arroyo brought to start the year. As time goes by, I think we will see either Hill or Turkoglu get benched in order for Ariza to develop better (i.e Pre-Season)
